Thank you for considering The Goondocks Open presented by Fort George Brewery, we've been looking forward to this event for a while now and can't wait to celebrate with you! We've had to modify some of our policies to best manage COVID-19 and sincerely appreciate all your help in making The Goondocks a safe and fun experience for everyone. We're working with a short time window, please bear with us as we do our best to put everything together. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Players that were previously registered for the Fort Stevens Goondocks Open must register again. We're sorry for the hassle, we couldn't figure out another way to fairly manage it. We will give waitlist priority to players previously registered. Thank you for understanding.

In coordination with the Oregon Health Authority, PGE Parks, and the Professional Disc Golf Association, we have developed a Best Practices document to help us safely manage the event from a public health perspective. We will be adhering to these guidelines and appreciate your help in these efforts!

Please stay home if you are feeling sick, have a fever, or have been in contact with someone exhibiting COVID-19 systems. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4F, has COVID-19, is exhibiting common symptoms of COVID-19, is ill, or is in direct contact with someone with COVID-19, must not participate and will be asked to leave the event. Volunteer’s, and staff must sign and date the Event Participation COVID-19 waiver, and COVID-19 Contact Information Tracing Form prior to participating in the tournament. By completing the contact information during registration you will have provided all the information needed for Contact Tracing, and the COVID-19 waiver comes up during checkout.

There will be a COVID-19 Monitor to help folks with social distancing guidelines and best practices. We will also have a Sanitation Attendant responsible for sanitizing benches and tables.

No spectators.

Disc and hand sanitation will be provided through-out the course.

Two Water stations will be available on the course and will have bottle water. Please use the bottle you touch, only touch the bottle you're going to use.

The Goondocks Open is a PDGA sanctioned, XB tier, bring your own partner, doubles tournament. PDGA members will receive points but ratings will not be affected. Pre-registration is required - no day off registrations will be accepted.

This is a Bring Your Own Partner (BYOP) doubles event. You will need to play in the division of the person with the highest rating on your team. For instance, if you have an MA2 rating and your partner has an MA1 rating, then you must play in at least the MA1 division. You must play in the division of the highest rated player. For age restricted divisions players must play down in division, for example, if one player is MA1 and one player is MA40 then you must play MA1.

We've reserved both shelter areas and will have additional designated areas to help safely social distance. Each shelter has a maximum occupancy of 25. The front shelter will be used for Tournament Central, people arriving for their tee time and to drop off score cards, the back shelter is being used as the Champions Pavilion, you'll receive trophies and prizes here. Please limit the Champions Pavilion to one division at a time, the current division using the pavilion will be posted.

-David Trophy-
We had custom "David" awards, anatomically correct for the movie, made for us in Australia. Made of bio resin, we love how they turned out! David awards are given to the team with the Best Name, Best Dressed, and players with the Longest Drive.

Best Name - Goonies themed? Disc golf related? Over the top? Creativity counts. Team names will be voted on Saturday night by the committee. Voting is completely subjective and requires a lot of Fort George beer. Each player on the winning team will receive one of the coveted "David" trophies.

Best Dressed - Knickers & plaid, kilts, capris & capes, wild to mild, we love it all! Due to COVID19 restrictions the committee is having to base this years votes solely on Saturday's outfits. We may ask to take your picture, our memories aren't as good as they used to be. The players on the winning team will each receive one of the "David" awards on Sunday. We have been known to add awards in this category. Good luck!
