TOURNAMENT INFO
Come join us for the Ghoulman Gauntlet! The heart of this tournament is to provide players of every skill level a chance to participate in a one day tournament during disc golf's shoulder season. We'll be debuting our brand new white tees layouts which knocks over 2000 feet of the long layout. Help us break in our short but challenging new layout! If you enjoy playing Pattee Canyon or the white tees at Blue Mountain, then you'll love tackling our shorter track. The aim of this tournament is to get amateurs and recreational players involved. We've worked with the PDGA to have the fees associated for non-members ($15) waived. Additionally, recreational players (MA3 & FA3) and juniors players will only be playing one round. If you've been waiting to play in your first tournament, this is THE ONE to register for today.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Nestled in the mountains outside Missoula lies the Gilman Gauntlet. A tournament grade course designed to challenge players of every skill level. This is woods disc golf at its best. The fairways are thoughtfully shaped and the greens are appointed with the best baskets in the game (MVP Black Hole Portals). The Gauntlet provides disc golfers the opportunity to compete at the highest level in a setting that is sure to become a highlight in Western Montana disc golf for years to come. We now have the course listed on UDisc (https://udisc.com/courses/gilman-gauntlet-iF3m)! Be sure to record a round and leave a rating the next time you log a round at Gilman.
TOURNAMENT VALUE
• Players who register by Friday, October 10th will receive a FREE UV FLASHLIGHT ($15 value)! Great for GLOW DISCS!
• Winners in each category (with 3+ competitors registered by 10/26) will receive a custom engraved trophy.
• All amateur and junior players will receive a player pack from Discraft.
• Custom stamped Ghoulman Gauntlet Proto-Glow discs will also be available for purchase.
• Professional divisions will receive a payout via PayPal.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Practice rounds will be available Monday - Wednesday and Friday of Tournament week (10/27-10/31) from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Practice rounds are free for tournament participants and volunteers but are also open to non-tournament participants who would like to experience the course ($10 day use fee). All practice rounds players will need to check in with the volunteer team to pay the fee in cash, sign the course waiver and receive the course map. Please understand that course work will still be going on during the practice rounds so players may have to skip holes that are being finalized for the tournament.
WEATHER
We're likely to have cooler weather come tournament time. Please keep in mind that the course is nestled in the mountains and can be up to 10 degrees cooler than at lower elevations. Please plan to dress in layers to account for weather changes during the day. There will be water stations throughout the course so that you can refill water bottles as needed. Please plan accordingly given the forecast.
