About this tournament
8 rounds of play
Greater Lancaster Area Disc (golf) Endurance Race 2026
8 courses, 135 holes, probably not enough daylight. Casual doubles event for people with total disregard for their wellbeing.
FAQs:
1. What is GLADER? GLADER (pronounced "gladder") is a best-shot doubles event comprised of 8 rounds of disc golf in one day (playing from literal sunrise to sunset). This silly event is designed to be a celebration of the abundance of quality disc golf courses that we are fortunate enough to have in the greater Lancaster area.
2. How does it work? This event is a BYO-partner event. All groups will meet at Buchmiller Park for the first round of the day (depending on registration numbers, we will have multiple starting holes to alleviate traffic jams during round 1). Upon completion of the first round, each group will progress through the remainder of the courses at their own pace and in whatever order they would like (with the caveat that everyone saves Roland Park for their last round). To close out the day, each group will play roland Park last, starting on hole 12 (in order to finish the wooded holes first as the daylight fades) and ending with a cozy ace-run on hole 11 for the 135th tee shot of the day. Once you've finished all 8 courses, we'll have some food and drinks at the park so that we can watch the rest of the groups finish out their rounds and reflect on the day!
3. How does the scoring work? Will there be a TD at each course to verify progress throughout the day? Not a chance! GLADER's scoring will operate on the honor's system, since each of the groups will be progressing through the courses at different paces. There are no trophies or cash-outs at stake for the best score, so if you get tempted to lie about your score, don't ¯_(ツ)_/¯
4. Are there divisions? Nope. All skills levels are welcome to join! There is no reward for shooting the best score; this event is all about having fun and experiencing as much of Lancaster's disc golf scene in one day as possible.
General Notes:
1. The schedule is tight for this event. As a result, Ready Golf rules apply - no need to wait for other players or spend time deliberating over which shot to throw.
2. If the weather is nice, you will undoubtedly come upon other people playing casual rounds at these courses. Playing through would be best to keep your pace up, but above all be respectful. We're all out just to have fun, so let's make sure that we treat the courses and the public with respect.
3. There are no designated meal breaks over the course of the day. Re-fueling the body can be done in the car on the drive between courses. Keeping supplies in coolers in your car is highly encouraged. Bring plenty of liquids to stay hydrated over the course of the day.
4. Bring multiple pairs of socks and shoes. Even if it is a sunny day, dew in the morning can soak your feet. Last year amounted to roughly 21 miles of walking over the course of the day...doing so in wet shoes/socks would not be a fun time.
5. Take care of yourself throughout the day. We're all here to support each other, but if you feel bad, take a break. We, the "TDs" are not assuming any liability. This whole thing is just for fun.
