About this tournament
Friendship League Tournament presented by PTB Disc Golf
Welcome to the Free Friendship Tournament presented by PTB Disc Golf! We're excited to offer this event to the disc golf community, and here's all you need to know:
Event Overview:
After two seasons of the Friendship League without a single ace, we're hosting an extraordinary event - the Free Friendship Tournament presented by PTB Disc Golf! For anyone who played in either League this Spring or Summer, the tournament is FREE to enter (outside of your PDGA fee if you are not a PDGA member) as the Ace Pot if paying for this tournament. If you were not in the Friendship League, you will be asked to pay a small fee. The Ace Pot for the tournament will be $5.00 to enter and will be bolstered by the remains from the League Pot.
Tournament Details:
Date: October 1st, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Flex start for both rounds).
Location: Parkland Beach Disc Golf Course.
Entry Fee:
- FREE for all Spring and Summer Friendship League participants.
- $5 Ace Pot buy-in for everyone (even League members)
- $20 entry fee for non-Friendship League participants.
- $10 additional fee for non-PDGA members, even if they were Friendship League members.
Course Layout:
The layout will follow the course as designed on UDisc, but we'll be playing from the marker flags. This means that some holes may be longer or slightly different from the standard layout, offering a unique challenge for all participants. Note that hole 16 will only be a single mando, not a double.
Registration and Payment:
There is no online registration payment for this tournament. We will be accepting cash or transfers on the day of the event. Please be at the Gull Lake Public Beach between 9 and 9:30 AM.
Players Meeting and Course Information:
There will be no formal players meeting, but tournament staff will be on-site from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM to answer any questions about the course. The Scoring App will have all the details hole by hole, so it will be essential to read that hole by hole for the most up-to-date information.
Starting Hole:
As it is a Flex Start, you can start on any hole you like and build your own card, but I am going to recommend you park at Gull Lake Public Beach and start on hole 15. This will allow you to play 3 holes in the open, then 11 holes in the trees, and end with 4 holes in the open again. More balanced play this way.
Wrap-Up and Prizes:
The tournament will conclude at 3:30 PM near the Gull Lake Public Beach, where we'll have a wrap-up session and distribute prizes to the winners.
Ace Pot Challenge:
While it would be shocking not to hit an ace, if no ace is hit, we have a fun surprise planned. For anyone that paid into the Ace Pot, there will be a throw-off on hole 15. Everyone will have 2 discs at the basket, but if no one hits an ace, we collect the discs and move closer to do this again. We will keep throwing until the ace is hit, moving closer if everyone misses again...and again.
