Forged In Iron will be the first 18-Down Bound Challenge run by Nathan Tucker and Valet Disc Golf. The goal of an 18-Down Bound Challenge is to shoot -18 in one round of doubles disc golf! Here are the details:
-Two rounds of 18 holes with at least one par 4 on the layout
-Doubles team (either Pro or Amateur division)
-Each player can purchase up to 9 mulligans for the day and use them at any point throughout the two rounds
-If a team shoots -18 on either round for a single round, they will take home the entire pot comprised of entry fees and any added cash that is donated
-If no teams shoot -18 in a single round, payouts will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams (60%, 30%, and 10% of division pot respectively)
Please note that this is an unsanctioned event and pays out cash only. Refunds may be requested up to a week from the event and after that, you may withdraw but you will not receive a refund. There will also be no player's pack associated with this event.
This 18-Down Bound Challenge will be held at Camp Buckner in Burnet, TX. For each participant that is not also participating in Man Camp 2021, you will need to sign a waiver from the campground and pay a non-refundable $10 day-use fee to the campground. This money will not contribute to the overall pot.
There will be mulligans available for purchase when you register. You may purchase 3 for $5 with the option to purchase up to 9 mulligans per team member. The last chance to purchase mulligans will be when you check-in on the day of the tournament.
There will be an ace pot as well and 100% of that will be paid out to aces or CTP throw-off if no aces are hit.
The tournament is run alongside a South Texas District men's retreat called Man Camp. If you are interested in attending Man Camp, you could earn $15 off of your entry fee and waive your day-use fee!
