Fling For Hope

This will be a C-tier amateur trophy only fundraiser tournament! All monies that are raised will be used for week of hope. Week of Hope is an outreach week sponsored by the Compass church.

Every participant will receive 2 disc one premium and 1 base model disc that have a retail value of higher than the registration fee.

This year 100% of the proceeds will be used to provide a meal and Christmas gifts to adults with special needs, as a part of a ministry we call Shop, Wrap, Serve, Give.

There will also be a CTP on every hole!

First of all, thank you all for playing in our first annual Fling for Hope! Your entry fee will help to Give over 25 special needs adults a wonderful Christmas!
A couple tips about tomorrow before we get to the business stuff. It looks like we will have a few rain shower during the first round. Make sure to bring plenty of towels to keep your discs dry. I would also suggest a light rain jacket or umbrella. Another tip is to bring an extra pair of shoes and socks to change in between rounds.
Parking for the event: There is plenty of parking by hole one.
Restrooms: There are two restrooms on the course. One is located by hole one and the other is located by hole 14.
The main 18 holes are in pretty good shape, but if there is any standing water on the fairway it will play as casual with relief. What that means is you have the choice to either play your disc from where it lies or take relief straight back until you are out of the water and play from there.
Ok, now down to business; because there are so many CTP’s and LP’s I will be sending a separate email with division specific info.
Round 1 will begin right at 9am. Please be at your assigned hole no later than 8:45 am. We will do a 2 minute warning and the tee off right at 9am.
Tournament central will be in the pavilion located close to hole 1. You will need to check in and pick up your player pack between 8am-8:45am.
It looks like we will have a few player pack discs left over. You can purchase additional discs between rounds or after the second round if you would like. The Vandals and Pures will be $15.00 all others will be $10. You can pay with cash, or venmo, or paypal.
MA 1 and MA 2 will be playing the long tee’s on every hole except Hole I. All other divisions will be playing the shorts. There is a creek that runs throughout the course, it will play OB on all holes.
There is also a walking path that runs through most of the regular 18 holes. That path will paly as hazard on ever hole except for hole 9. What hazard means is if you land on or go over the walking path you will play your disc from where it lands with a 1 stroke penalty.
All sidewalks, roads, and parking lots will be Ob.
All of the greens have orange painted hash marks to help you determine if you are in the circle or not. This is only a point of reference if there is a question as to if you are in the circle your card mates must make the final decision.
Because of the wet conditions we will not be able to play all of the extra wooded holes. Instead we will play two rounds of 21 holes, which will include holes 1-18 as well as A, B, and I.

The second round will start 1 hour after the last card from round 1 is turned in, tee times and starting holes for the second round will be posted asap after the finish of the first round on.

We will be utilizing the PDGA live scoring; to access the score card go to this link, at least one person must keep an official score card on https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/login
The access code is Fling2021. A backup score card must be kept as well, you can either do it through Udisc; or now two people can keep track of the score on the PDGA live scoring site. I would suggest using it.
In round 1 there will be 11 CTP’s including 7 division specific, 3 all division and 1 cash CTP (for those that paid in.) There will also be 7 division specific Longest Putt holes. Each one is listed below. When you finish the first round, please bring the CTP flag from your finishing hole with you back to tournament central. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS HOLE 8. PLEASE DO NOT BRING IT BACK UNTIL THE END OF ROUND 2.
In round 2 all of the CTP’s and longest putts will be removed (except for the cash CTP that is on hole 8, which be active both rounds.) In round 2 there will be 9 new CTP’s 7 division specific, and 2 all division ones. At the end of the round please bring the CTP flag from you finishing hole back with you to tournament central.

11- (244/180) Island hole. If Island is missed off of the drive proceed to drop zone with 1 stroke penalty. Hazard walking path right/ OB on or under the bridge. Ob Water behind. ALL DIVISION CTP.
