As we prepare to say farewell to Evergreen, well….we can’t go out without a bang. I’m not sure there can ever be another venue so fantastic and accommodating, but it is what it is.
I’ll cherish the memories and be grateful we had it for the time we did.
As such, here’s the deets on our going away sanctioned event.
Bente Fundraiser
At the end of May, 2022 we will say goodbye to our beloved Evergreen Flyways DGC. It’s not the ending we wanted to see, we will press on. What we cannot do is let a loss hinder the spirit we in the disc golf community share. That said, we have turned this “goodbye” into an opportunity to support the literal future of our sport.
“Farewell ForEvergreen-Driven by Innova” will be a fundraiser event to help send one of our local standouts to 2 of the biggest amateur events in the nation this year.
This event will benefit Henry Bente and his family as they travel to the 2022 PDGA United States Amateur Disc Golf Championship on
June 10th-12th 2022 at the Kensington Metropark / Toboggan Course Milford, Michigan AND 2022 PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championship July 12th-16th Peoria, Illinois !!!
Henry, his father Jonathan, and the rest fo the Bente clan have taken the states DG scene by storm the last few years. They play every weekend, traveling to events all over the state, supporting local clubs, businesses, TD’s and causes along the way. All this on top of winning EVERYTHING and being great humans too.
As we all know, there are costs to travel, especially with an entourage like theirs. We are going to help offset costs and let young Henry know wholeheartedly that his city is behind him in his endeavors.
And i just gotta add this, young Robert Burridge was last years winner. How awesome will it be to have two TEXAS winners back to back !!??!!!
DETAILS:
When you register for “Farewell ForEvergreen”, $5 from each entry will go to the Bente cause. Additionally, theres a spot to donate a few $ if you so choose.
BENEFIT WAFFLE:
Expect details very soon from Johnathan Bente and Steve Stanley, as they will be running a HUGE waffle for the same cause.
Expect a basket, several DG bags, discs and all sorts of frisbee related items donated by the Bentes themselves and local supporters.
Short version, the Bentes are awesome folks. Henry is a great kid and an EXTREMELY talented player. If you so choose, heres an opportunity to support him and help chase a dream !!

-(Gold) Traditional long concrete layout with Gold Hole 1 and Hole 18 tee for MA1 and Mens pro and above.
- (White)Traditional short concrete layout for MA2<, MA50+ and all ladies divs.
-Gold 18 pin position for all players.
-players pack discs for all ams.

$3/$2 PDGA
$2 admin/parks fee
$2 to GHDGC
EVERYTHING else to performance based payouts for ALL divs (except JRs)
ALL JRs receive entry fee value in merch.
WAITLIST REQUIRES FULL ENTRY FEE COMMITMENT-
$5 processing fee for withdrawal
I do not know the chances of a player getting in from the waitlist.

Any player who asks a question clearly covered in "THE ABOUT SECTION" leaves themselves likely to chain out an ace, have a terrible rollaway and it's likely this player will receive the wrong order at Whataburger on the way home from the event

Gorilla DG is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.
GDG refund policy- $5 processing fee
Refunds should be requested through the confirmation email.
GDG will refund any player in full (minus registration fees) if requested by email more than 72hrs before the start of event check-in.
GDG will refund any player in full (minus reg fees) up to 24hrs before check-in ONLY IF we can fill the spot.
ALL drops within 24 hours of the event- players will receive entry fee value in merchandise at vendors convenience.
No shows forfeit entry fees.
*exceptions can be made in certain circumstances.
