About this tournament

The Nacogdoches Open is the Dynamic Discs Dirty Dozen Tour stop #7. This tournament will consist of three rounds. Each competitor will play the Lake Nac, Pioneer, and Pecan Acres parks. Two rounds on Saturday and one round on Sunday. This will be a shotgun start format. There's a strict player cap of 270. Registration opens Friday, April 7th 2023 @ 8:00 p.m. Please email [email redacted] with any additional questions.

Remember, this is a three-round, two day, Shotgun start event. Pool assignments for divisions and order of play for each course is located in the event schedule section of the registration page as well as on the tournament flyer. This is subject to change, but we do not anticipate any major changes at this time. Lake Nac and Pecan Acres Park consist of 18 holes each while Pioneer Park will consist of 20 holes. All players will compete on each course one time during the event.

All amateur division winnings will payout 45% of the division per PDGA standards. All Pro division winnings will be paid in cash via PayPal by the end of Monday following the event. Be sure to use the email associated with your PayPal address when you register so this process is seamless.

All amateur players will receive a player pack! We do not know what that is at this time, but it will include a shirt.

*NOTICE

Waitlists will not be consolidated until the Monday before the event. This means division caps and pools will be adjusted when/if needed at that time. Until then, people on the waitlist will get in as people from the same division drop out. If this is not stated clearly, email [email redacted]

Participants hereby hold blameless and fully release Dynamic Discs Lewisville, LLC., Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside Discs, the Professional Disc Golf Association, the tournament directors, local and state park services, and all tournament partners/sponsors and individuals or parties associated with Dynamic Discs from all liability of personal damage or injury which I may incur before, during, or after my participation in this event. I accept full and sole responsibility for any damage I may cause through negligence and/or malice, including damages or injuries caused by my own throws in practice or competition. I also recognize that Dynamic Discs Carrollton, Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside Discs, event staff, the PDGA, and any other media outlets covering the event have the right and responsibility to record the event and participants via video and still photography. Such photography and/or video may be used for event publicity, public information or any other promotional use that falls within event activities.

I. Player Eligibility

Any person may compete in a DDC event. If the event is PDGA (Professional Disc Golf Association) sanctioned, competitors must be current PDGA members for B tiers and higher, or pay an additional $10.00 fee to become a temporary member for each C Tier event. DDC events that are not PDGA sanctioned do not require any additional fees. Participants are eligible to compete in any division for which they qualify based on age, rating, gender and class (professional or amateur). Current PDGA membership is required for B tier events and above. The $10.00 PDGA fee for non-members is waived for youth competitors in any Junior division for C Tier events.

II. Tournament Registration

Pre-registration is required for all DDC B tiers and above. Pre-registration is recommended for all other DDC events. A competitor is not officially registered for the event until their entry fee has been received in full by DDC. All DDC events will be linked to DiscGolfScene.com for complete tournament registration. By pre-registering before the cutoff date listed on the registration page, players will be guaranteed to receive all benefits of the tournament. The deadline for registration will be listed on the DiscGolfScene.com registration page for each individual event.

Division caps and availability will be set when registration opens. Openings for each event will be available on a first-come, first-served basis unless stated otherwise before registration opens. Division caps are subject to change throughout the entire registration process.

All waitlists are managed by DiscGolfScene.com and Dynamic Discs Carrollton. Waitlists begin once a division(s), Pool(s), or the event(s) fills. A person on the waitlist who did not get into the event will receive a full refund minus any fees incurred by DiscGolfScene.com. Dynamic Discs Carrollton’s first priority is to keep the integrity of the competition in the highest regard. The tournament director can/will make changes to the waitlist as needed to optimize the competition. Always email the tournament director ([email redacted]) for any tournament questions. Text/DM/social media messages will not be considered official and may not be received by the Tournament Director in a timely manner.

Junior Divisions and the Recreational mixed divisions are “trophy only” divisions. This means these divisions get an additional bonus player pack, but do not receive any type of merchandise payout at the conclusion of the event. This is subject to change at any time. Podium Finishers (1st-3rd) will receive a trophy in the MA3 divisions. Junior Divisions will receive a trophy for first place only.

III. Withdrawals and Refunds

OFFICIAL REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY FOR 2023
If you need to cancel for any event, the request MUST be made by email to [email redacted]. Cancellations more than 7 days in advance from the event will receive a full refund minus a $10 processing and cancellation fee. Cancellations under 7 days from the tournament date will receive a 50% refund minus a $10 processing and cancellation fee. If you fail to contact us properly to cancel your spot prior to the start of the event, you will forfeit your entry fee for that event. No player’s packages will be given to non-competitors in lieu of entry fees or store credit. While this policy will be in effect for the 2023 season, it may change for specific events.

Once a player begins his/her round, there will be no refunds given for any reason. If a player has to quit due to injury, illness, or an emergency during their round, a score of 999 will be assessed for not finishing the event as long as the Tournament Director is notified. If a player walks off the course in the middle of their round and fails to tell the Tournament Director or any of the tournament staff, the player will receive an 888. Communication is key so DDC can better serve you.

IV. Event Check-In

Competitors are responsible for checking in before their designated start time the day of each event. If a competitor fails to check-in, they may forfeit their spot, player’s pack, and entry fee. While this is not always the case, DDC can/will exercise the right (when a tournament fills) to allow competitors from an active waitlist to participate. Additionally, tournament-specific merchandise will be sold once the first round of the tournament begins. If a player does not register in time for a player package, a voucher of equal retail value will be issued to be redeemed at Dynamic Discs Carrollton. Exceptions can be made as long as the Tournament Director has been notified by email ahead of time.

Player packs are offered at B tier events and higher for ALL amateur players during early check-in. Some tournaments will have pre-registration deadlines for apparel items. If players do not sign up before the stated deadline for said tournament, the player(s) may not receive the apparel item listed. Vouchers worth the retail value of the apparel item will be given as a substitute for late registrants. Apparel, trophies, and event-specific items need a two week lead time or longer to make sure the proper stock is ordered and received on time. Deadlines are listed on each individual tournament registration page.

Additional player packs will be sold at retail value once the first round of the tournament has begun. Players who have failed to check-in before the first round of the tournament might miss out on a full player package. Vouchers for retail value may be given in place of items not received.

V. Grouping and Sectioning of Divisions

In all cases at C tier events or higher, Professional and Amateur divisions will not be grouped together unless it is completely unavoidable. All players will be randomly grouped within their chosen division. In the instance there are multiple courses requiring the field to be split into pools, we will follow this template in most cases:

A Pool will consist of ALL Professional divisions PLUS Advanced Men(MA1) and Advanced Masters 40+(MA40).
B Pool will consist of all other Amateur divisions plus Juniors.
With three or more courses in play at one time, A Pool shall be all Professional divisions, B pool all Advanced divisions, and C Pool all remaining divisions not mentioned.
Depending on the event location, course conditions, and registration numbers, Pools may change at any time to keep the integrity of the competition paramount.
Players in each division are randomly grouped for the first round. This is not done by name, PDGA number, or rating. Sorting of players is totally random. Once the first round is complete, individual divisions are sorted from lowest score to highest. If two or more competitors have the same score after the first round, they will be sorted by lowest PDGA number first. For an event with three rounds or more, players in the same division with the same total score will be grouped together in order of who shot the lowest scoring round first, then by PDGA number.
Division changes for any division will not be allowed within 24 hours of the event unless approved by the Tournament Director prior to the deadline.
Five-year age based divisions WILL NOT be offered at any event that is sanctioned below an A Tier. We will offer MP40, MP50, MP60, MP70, MA40, MA50, MA60, and MA70.
ANY PRO DIVISIONS OFFERED WITH LESS THAN FOUR PLAYERS will not receive any added cash. For example: If there are only three players in the MP40 division, payout will only reflect what the net entry fee is. Minimum added cash requirements will only benefit divisions of four or more players in the pro fields. There can be exceptions for the Women’s divisions. If you have questions please email the Tournament Director before the event.

VI. Rules of Disc Golf/Competition

Please refer to the Professional Disc Golf Association’s Competition Manual and the Official Rules of Disc Golf for all sanctioned events hosted by DDC. These rules will be enforced to the fullest extent at each sanctioned event. For the safety, fairness, and integrity of the sport, it is necessary that all competitors are accountable for their own actions. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated.

VII. Ties Broken

Ties for first place in any division will be broken with sudden-death play involving the players affected by the tie. Sudden-death play will begin on hole one unless otherwise stated by the Tournament Director once the tie is official. If a tied competitor leaves an event before sudden-death play, they forfeit the chance to compete for a first place finish and automatically assume a second place finish. In the event the tournament is called due to dangerous conditions, first place ties will not be broken and all competitors currently tied for first place will be considered co-champions assuming there is no option to continue/complete play.

If trophies are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers at any given event (within the same division), this is how ties shall be addressed:

The trophy for 1st place will go to a sudden death playoff if there is a tie as stated above. The trophy goes to the winner (First Place).
The trophy for second place ties will be allocated in the following manner: second place trophy will go to the player with the best score during the final round. The third place trophy will go to the finisher with the same overall score for the tournament. If the players shot the exact same score each round of the event, they will begin a sudden death playoff for the trophy on a hole designated by the tournament director.
If there is a tie for 3rd place, the player with the best score during the final round moving them to third place will receive the trophy. If the players shot the exact same score each round of the event, they will begin a sudden death playoff for the trophy on a hole designated by the tournament director.

VIII. Distribution of Tournament Winnings

Cash winnings for Professionals will be sent out on Monday by 6PM CDT (as long as it does not fall on a holiday, federal or otherwise) following any Friday, Saturday or Sunday event. If the following Monday is a holiday, payment will be sent on the next business day. This will be handled via PayPal ONLY. Recipients must provide a paypal account in order to receive their winnings. Any payout not claimed within 6 months for any reason, will be relinquished by the player.
Merchandise winnings of any sort shall be claimed within six (6) months of the tournament date. Any winnings not redeemed inside of six months will be relinquished by the player. DDC offers payout onsite during each event and anytime during business hours at Dynamic Discs Carrollton. If a competitor wishes to use payout online, 35% of the total amount of payout will be deducted for this service.
Trophies - Trophies are typically ordered two weeks before the event. If a division forms within two weeks of the event, we will not have a trophy onsite for the awards ceremony. A trophy will be ordered and mailed to the winner once the event is complete.
Drop Shipments - Any competitor who wishes to use payout on baskets, bags, carts, or any other item unavailable onsite can request a drop-shipment to their personal address. A drop-shipment fee of $20 for accessories/bags and $75 for baskets or carts must be paid by cash/credit card/PayPal to Dynamic Discs Carrollton for this service. The cost of the item (not including the drop shipment fee) will be assessed and deducted from the individual’s tournament winnings.
If an individual requests DDC to bring any type of cart, basket, or backpack bag to be redeemed with payout to a tournament site, a convenience fee will be assessed and made in the form of cash/credit card/PayPal to Dynamic Discs Carrollton. $10 for any bags and $15 for any cart or basket. Dynamic Discs Carrollton needs at least two-week notice for this service for guaranteed delivery if the product is not out of stock.
Payout Percentage - Pro payout percentage will be 40% of the field based on PDGA minimum standards. Amateur Payout percentage will be 45% of the field based on PDGA minimum standards. This template will be reflected at all sanctioned events labeled as C and B tiers.
Dynamic Discs Carrollton/Texas Amateur side A tiers will be labeled as TROPHY ONLY events. Player packs for these events are higher in value and usually worth close to double the entry fee or more. There is no payout based on PDGA standards, but instead a modified payout to the top 15%-20% of each amateur division. This payout is normally very high because such a small percentage of the field is being paid out. This is subject to change for any event and the payouts to the top 15%-20% of each amateur field is based on entry fee and participation. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place receive trophies at these events.

X. Dynamic Discs Texas COVID Policies and Waiver

In order for events to take place and proceed in the safest manner possible, participants need to consider and follow these safety measures:
Social distancing of at least 6 feet apart from others is encouraged.
Masks are encouraged to be worn when this 6-foot policy cannot be adhered to.
Do not touch anyone or anyone else's property (discs included).
Do not crowd the tournament staff at any point.
We ask anyone who shows any symptoms associated with COVID-19 or other sickness not to participate or attend any event. This is for your own safety, the safety of volunteers, the Dynamic Discs staff, and everyone else involved.

We will continue to have onsite player meetings for each event unless otherwise stated. The onsite player meeting will take place at a designated time and place listed in the event schedule on the registration page. While the onsite player meeting is not mandatory, any last minute changes will be announced at that time. Player and event info will be sent out via email and copied to the event pages before the onsite player meeting so competitors have all of the info they need before any last minute changes may happen.. As a tournament player it is your responsibility to know the rules of disc golf and the layout of the course you play before competing in a sanctioned event. Please be responsible and know the formats/layouts and daily schedule before arriving at the event.

Water Stations on Courses:
Water on the courses is for you, the player.
Our suggestion is to designate one person on your card to dispense water for everyone after following the protocol above.

X. Dynamic Discs Texas COVID Policies and Waiver (cont’d)
As tournament/competitive/recreational players it is our responsibility to adhere to park rules, COVID-19 standards and precautions, and to the welfare of others. Please keep sidewalks and paths clear of bags/carts. Pedestrians always have the right-of-way. Even though these events are official, and we have exclusive use of the courses, these are public parks. We DO NOT kick people out or tell them they cannot play the course. We DO tell them what is going on and give them all of the information needed to make sure there is little or no issue. In all cases these situations tend to work themselves out. As tournament players I feel it is our duty to be positive and informative towards others regardless of being a part of a paid tournament. All in all, we should be respectful and kind to everyone we come in contact with.

Event Participant COVID-19 Waiver
Participants understand that participation in this event carries with it risk of injury or death and I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns expressly release, forever discharge, and hold harmless any 2023 event hosted by Dynamic Discs Lewisville, LLC., Steven Storrie, Dynamic Discs Lewisville, LLC. and its staff, Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, Westside Discs, all municipalities and organizations in relation to the event including their officers, agents, and employees, and the Professional Disc Golf Association from all personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death in connection with my participation in this event.

Further, I understand and acknowledge that I am participating in this event at my own risk, that any safety precautions designed to protect against the spread of COVID-19 undertaken by the Releasees does not guarantee I will not contract COVID-19, and that, the foregoing notwithstanding, it is my specific intent to affirm my foregoing release of the Releases with respect to any personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death I may experience from COVID-19 in connection with my participation in this event.

XI. PDGA Digital Scorecard for 2023

We will not use physical paper scorecards as the official scoring outlet for PDGA events unless cellular service is not strong enough. We will be using digital scorecards for events. In order to review this method and familiarize yourself with the process, please follow this link: PDGA Tournament Manager Help: PDGA Digital Scorecard. As of late 2022, the PDGA has implemented a smartphone app for PDGA Live Scoring. This can be used in lieu of the web browser. The link to that can be found here: Download the PDGA Live app | Professional Disc Golf Association

To start your round with digital scoring you will need to go to the following link: www.pdga.com/score. Below you will find easy steps to complete the process:

You will be prompted to enter the Access Code (not case sensitive) for the event you are attending and press the Submit button.
Search for your name. You can search by typing in part of your name or PDGA Number. Once your name appears, you select it and confirm. This person is now the “scorekeeper”.
You will be prompted to select the round for which you are currently playing.
The scoring screen will load with your name. The default starting hole is hole 1, so be sure to choose the correct starting hole if for some reason hole 1 is not where the group is starting (e.g. shotgun start).
Scores for each player will be automatically defaulted to whatever the par is for the hole that is being scored. The player can use the plus or minus buttons to add or remove strokes. When all players have the correct scores, clicking Save & Continue will upload the scores and the page will automatically reload on the hole that follows.
The teeing order is indicated by a number presented to the left of each player's name.

WE WILL NOT USE PAPER SCORECARDS AS PRIMARY SCORING, BUT THEY WILL BE USED AS BACKUPS. EVERY GROUP MUST KEEP SCORE ON THE PDGA DIGITAL SIDE AS WELL AS A PHYSICAL SCORECARD. THIS IS A PDGA RULE. PHYSICAL SCORECARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR AT THE COURSE YOU PLAY BEFORE EACH ROUND BEGINS. PHYSICAL SCORECARDS NEED TO BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND TURNED IN TO THE COURSE DIRECTOR WHERE YOU PICKED THEM UP IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR ROUND IS COMPLETE AND SCORES ARE VERIFIED. MAKE SURE THE PHYSICAL SCORECARD MATCHES YOUR ONLINE SCORES.
