Think you have what it takes to stick the island like the pros? Well here's your opportunity to prove it. All you need is $5 for 1 throw or $10 for 3 and a disc (or 3) that can carry 315'. The Inaugural Mingo Throw is a donation event set to raise funds for the Sockibomb Foundation.
No discs will be provided for this event, The Mingos are not responsible for discs claimed by the lake.
HOW THIS EVENT WORKS:
All participants will have the chance to make the island, CTP will win the prize!
WHEN DOES IT START:
The Mingo Charity Throw will take place immediately following (flex start) the conclusion of day 1 of DDO (JUNE 16th), once the DGPT has given us the all clear. We hope to start by 7pm and have our winner no later than 9pm.
WHO ARE WE HELPING:
The Sockibomb Foundation...
The Sockibomb Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity. "The Foundation is committed to growing disc golf into a mainstream recreational activity while also promoting the lifelong benefits of playing the sport." Not only do your donations help put discs in the hands of kids all over the country, but there are tax benefits to donating as well. For every $1 donated, two kids are introduced to the sport. A $25 donation pays for two whole classes to learn about disc golf!
REFUND POLICY:
This is a rain or shine event. All proceeds will go directly to the Sockibomb foundation. As such we will not offer refunds and will pass on your contribution(s) to the foundation.
MINGO MINGLE (21 & Over):
Following the Mingo Throw, The Double 8's will be having an additional charity opportunity by hosting the MINGO MINGLE. The Mingo's will migrate to our favotite local watering hole known as Town Royal, located at 405 Commercial St, Emporia, KS.
The Mingo Mingle is a casual social gathering of disc golf fans. So, expect lots of great conversations about missed birdies and those almost aces. Come Mingle with the flock and let us hear your stories. (You can sign up for the Mingle if under 21 but will not be able to enter Town Royal, a handful of minis and shirts will be available at the charity throw.)
Donation for this event is $10 and includes:
• • 1 custom Double 8 Mingo (Dri Fit) T-shirt
• • 1 custom Mingo mini
• • FREE BEER (until our 2 pre-paid kegs are empty) MUST BE 21 OR OLDER
• • All of the money collected will be donated to the Sockibomb Foundation.

The PDGA, DGPT, Dynamic Discs, Emporia Country Club, Town Royal, and the Double 8's are not responsible for any loss of property (discs) or personal injury that may result from participating in these event(s).
