More details about the fundraising efforts.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit the New Swope Park Disc Golf Course, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
Calling all KC area disc golfers!!! This is your opportunity to make a difference and help shape the future of our sport in KC. Many of us walked the treelined fairways of the original Swope Park Folf course for many years, including the legends of the game. And a lot of us got our start there! While the original course is gone, we have a unique opportunity to partner with the City to make the vision of Jack Lowe’s design a reality. This is where we all come together for a great cause and to make Swope Park significant and relevant again!
We are raising money so we can hire Linksmaker, a Golf Course Construction Company, to alter the topography of the Swope Disc Golf Course to complete Jack’s design. Linksmaker was involved in successfully shaping the Blue Valley Disc Golf course several years ago. Their work will entail modifying and shaping fairways, create interesting shotmaking and providing natural areas for landscaping for the course. If we do our part, the city will more than match our contribution in the form of design fees, seed, turf, bushes, shrubs and trees.
Our goal is to raise $45,000, and I am asking the KC Disc Golf community to step up through Go Fund me to help the cause. $10, $25, $100 or what ever you can afford. Together, we can begin to restore Swope Park as a name synonymous with great disc golf in KC and in the Midwest.
