About this tournament
1 round of play
Rez may be gone, but Rattle the Chains is back! Do Better DGC and Children's Protection Center will be hosting the Annual Rattle the Chains Disc Golf Tournament with a NEW FORMAT, NEW COURSE, BUT SAME GREAT FUN.
Come join us for our 7/7/7 Triples Event at Sherwood Forrest on September 7. Grab a friend, grab their friend too and let's have some fun as we support Children's Protection Center.
Players Packs
Players packs are still evolving as we get sponsorships. But at minimum each competitor will receive:
1 Free Disc
First 51 registrants will receive 1 free growler and fill from our sponsors at Flyway Brewing
Prizes for Each Division
Top 3 teams in each division will receive prize packs
Lunch will be provided by our Sponsors.
What is 7/7/7 format?
On this 21 hole layout we will be breaking the format into 3 sets of 7 holes to be played as follows:
1-6b Best Shot
7-12b Worst Shot
13-18b Alt Shot
(6b, 12b, & 18b are tentative and used to illustrate that there will be 1 additional hole added in each 3rd of the course for a total of 21)
Best Shot: Typical Teams format in which all three players drive from the tee. The Best Shot will be the new lie and all three players play from the new lie. Playing from the best shot continues until the hole is completed. The hole is completed once one team member has holed out.
Worst Shot: The most brutal of the teams formats and can test the patience
of the best. In Worst Shot, all three players drive from the tee. The team then chooses which new lie is the worst (with consideration from the opposing team) and all three players play from the new worst lie. Playing from the worst lie continues until the hole is completed. The hole is completed once one team member has holed out.
Alt Shot: Only one throw is made from each lie, alternating which players throw from each subsequent lie. Ex. Hole 13 Player 1 drives, player 2 holes out, Hole 14 player 3 drives, player 1 approaches, player 2 holes out. Each competitive throw is made be an alternating player, maintaining the same order. Play alternates in that fashion until the section of 7 holes is completed (13-18b).
• If the wrong player on a team throws, another team must call it immediately, like a foot fault. The team receives a warning, and the correct player throws. Subsequent violations incur a one-throw penalty.
• For any violation that requires a rethrow (stance violation, provisional throw), the same player throws.
*MULLIGANS
With such a fun format on such a fun wooded course, you know we've got to throw in some mulligan opportunities. The CPC has a 'Resource Closet'. This closet is stocked with many different items to assist families at the Center as they receive necessary care from each of the agencies. These items include food, clothes, hygiene products, gift cards for various fast-food restaurants and more. For every item donated you will receive 1 mulligan, not to exceed 6 per team. Each player can only use 2 mulligans. For more information on the purpose and impact of the Resource Closet, please reach out. See the image for acceptable items to be donated to the Resource Closet.
CTPS/Prizes
We are still working through the details, but as always, we will have all sorts of CTPs and Prizes to offer and available to all competitors. Chances to win these items are included with registration.
Hole Sponsorship*
Have a business, club, or cause you'd like to advertise? Our Hole Sponsorships provide a great opportunity. Addition of 1 Hole Sponsorship will include a printed sign with your requested information at either the Tee Box or Pin Location (not to interfere with field of play; hopefully) of your choosing. If including the add on, please indicate in the comments if there is a preferred hole or location (box or pin) that you would like the sign to be positioned. Please provide Sponsorship information to [email redacted].
Children’s Protection Center (CPC) is a non-profit child advocacy and safety center serving all Pulaski County children, families and professionals working to end child abuse.
