About this tournament

Discraft presents The Open at Belton is excited to be on the DGPT Silver Series tour for the second consecutive year! A big reason is because of your support by playing in the Am side of the event. We also welcome onboard our new title sponsor, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor – and again a big shout out goes to our presenting sponsor Discraft for an 8th consecutive year! Thank you all for making The Open at Belton possible!

With the growth of The Open, and in order to optimize the experience for all divisions, we will be separating the ProAm (MP40/50/60/70 & Ams) weekend from the DGPT (MPO/FPO) weekend. As part of your player pack, all ProAm players will again receive an on-course spectator weekend pass to the DGPT event. If you can’t make it back to watch the pros playing during the DGPT weekend, be aware your entry badge is transferable, so pass it on to a buddy.

The ProAm weekend is February 26-27, and the DGPT Silver Series weekend is March 18-20. All competition for all divisions will be at Heritage Park in Belton, Texas.

The Open Course will be setup just as it will be for the DGPT weekend in March. So you’ll be able to compare your scores to the top pros.

The temporary Park Avenue course will be completely setup (baskets/tee signs) by noon on Thursday 2/24. If you are practicing Park Ave (pre-setup) without the tee signs/baskets in place, please be courteous to the other park guests. Note: most tee pads on Park Avenue DGC are a generous area of natural turf.

ProAm Weekend Format:

– One 18 hole round per day. Two rounds total, with a Final-9 for those who make the cash/prize line (plus ties). The cut will be 40% for Pros and 50% for Ams. A division must have at least 8 players to have a final 9.

– All rounds will be played using Tee Times. Tee times will be posted by 7pm Friday, February 25 here: https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/55146

– Pool A will play Round 1 at the temporary Park Avenue course and Round 2 on The Open Course. Final 9 will be on The Open Course.

– Pool B will play Round 1 at The Open Course and Round 2 on the Park Avenue course. Final 9 will be on the Park Avenue course.

– POOL C (Juniors) will play both rounds on the Park Avenue course and will not have a final 9.

– PRO JOURNEYMAN SPONSORS are competing for a SPONSORS EXEMPTION SPOT in The Open DGPT Silver Series event in March.

– Pro Ace Pool: There will be $330 carried over from last year's age-protected Ace Pool, so go out there hunting aces – especially on the Park Avenue Course! Note: The Am ace pool was won last year so there will be a fresh ace pool for Ams in 2022.

Check-In:
There will be Friday check-in available at Heritage Park during the day and then also at an evening indoor location TBA. Player packs will be available at check-in. If you do not check in on Friday, please check in 45 minutes prior to your tee time at Hole 1 of your course. If you have already checked-in please make your presence known to your course starter at Hole 1 at least 15 minutes before your tee time.

We are excited to welcome disc golfers from around the world to this world class course and venue. Please visit our website www.theopendgc.com for course information, caddie guides, news, and more. This year's course information caddie guide will be available by February 6 at https://theopendgc.com/.
