About this tournament

NC Double Championship Format and Play Rules
Round 1 – Best Shot (Captain’s Choice)
Best Shot Rules – Both players tee and throw and then the team chooses which of the resulting lies to continue play from, until the hole is completed.
• TEAM picks lie they will throw from
• Lies picked up before being marked are lost. Team MUST use other lie
• If first player throws from wrong lie, second player MUST throw from correct lie.
• In case of injury or disqualification (DQ), player may play alone, throwing 1 extra shot per hole. 2 extra shots will be allowed on par 4’s. Only 1 extra shot can be used per lie.
Round 2 – 666 THE HOLES USED ARE THE NUMBERED HOLES ON THE COURSE, NOT YOUR FIRST 6 HOLES, ie…you may start on hole 3 which would mean holes 3-6 as Tough Shot, 7-12 as Combined Score, 13-18 Alternate Shot and then return to Tough Shot on holes 1&2.
FORMAT - Tough Shot 1-6, Combined Score 7-12, Alternate Shot 13-18
Tough Shot Rules – Both players tee and throw and then the OPPOSSING team chooses the worst lie for the other team to play from, until 1 person completes the hole by ‘holing out’.
• Opposing team selects lie
• Lie accidently picked up may be replaced without penalty.
• Teams giving better lies to other teams will be DISQUALIFIED for un-sportsmanlike behavior
• Only 1 person needs to hole out for the team to finish the hole
• In the event of injury or DQ, the single player will throw two drives, choose the best and then finish the hole under normal rules
Combined Score Rules – Each player plays the tradition single competition format for this round and then adding scores together at end of round to establish total team score.
• The player who is away always throw first with THIS exception: IF both players are lying the same number of throws, the team may choose which player throws first.
• In case of injury or DQ, partner may play alone, resulting in the doubling of the single team members score.
Modified Alternate Shot Rules –
Both players throw a tee shot. The team then chooses the best lie, the team member that did not throw the shot, makes the shot from the lie. Players will alternate throws until holing out. example - player A and player B tee. The team chooses player A's lie, so player B (and only player B) throw the second shot. Player A then throws the third shot (and only player A). Then player B throws the fourth, etc. This is repeated until holing out.
• If the wrong player on a team throws, another team MUST call it immediately. First offense is a warning, and the correct player throws.
• Any re-throw violations, the same player re-throws
• In the event of injury or DQ, the single player will throw two drives, choose the best and then finish the hole under normal rules.
Round 3 – Best Shot (Captain’ Choice) – see round 1 for rules.
• Both teammates will play in the same group.
• The player who is away always throw first with THIS exception: IF both players are lying the same number of throws, the team may choose which player throws first.
• A player MUST pick up once it is impossible for him to better the team’s score. Warning for 1st violation, penalty stroke for subsequent violations.
• In case of injury or DQ, partner may play alone.
Round 4 – Best Score (Best Disc) Best Score Rules – Each player plays the holes as they would while playing singles; THERE ARE NO SHARED LIES. The team score is the best score on the hole by one of its players.
