About this tournament

We are excited to announce that World Golf Sand Creek has decided to investigate adding disc golf to their incredible facility. We can’t thank Mike and Mark Fontana enough for their excitement and vision toward making this a reality for all disc golfers in the Colorado Springs area and beyond. Let’s all work together to show World Golf Sand Creek how much we desire a more diversified portfolio of course options in Colorado Springs! Team Throw Colorado’s Kyle Giovannini, assisted by other Colorado Springs-area players, has designed a great layout for everyday use on the property with the goal of keeping traditional golf and disc golf operating at the same time without undue hindrance. Kyle has also selected a tournament layout that utilizes more of the property in a gold level layout. This layout can be used for larger events that involve only disc golf operating at that time.

Mike and Mark Fontana have decided to have an exploratory disc golf event that will help them not only measure the interest in this new course offering from the local disc golf community, but also will allow them the see how well disc golf and traditional golf can interact and coexist on the property. This is where we all come in to show how important this is to the growth of our sport in Colorado Springs. On Saturday November 5th there will be a two round, 36 hole disc golf event with extra games and contests to do just that! The course will be closed to traditional golf uses for the day, giving us free reign over the property to play Kyle’s Gold Layout. A great lunch from the Fairway Pub and Grille will be provided for all registrants. On Sunday November 6th, there will be a doubles competition held while traditional golf is being played to help further investigate the viability and cohabitation of disc golf at World Golf Sand Creek.

Registration will open on Thursday 9/22 at 8:00pm, so set your reminders! We will also be offering hole sponsorship for the event that come with a guaranteed spot in the field (hole sponsors will still need to pay their registration fee). Division offerings and payouts will be similar to a sanctioned event (slightly smaller offering) with money payouts to professional divisions and merchandise payouts to amateur divisions along with opportunities for all to win incredible extra prizes! Long Drive and Closest to Pin contests will be separated into three fields of PRO, AM, and Women. Come out and help make this disc golf opportunity a reality for all!
