DGPT+ The Open at Austin
Welcome to the 12th Edition of the The Open Disc Golf Championship as we enter our sixth consecutive year as a DGPT event and our second year as DGPT+ four round tournament. The 2026 version of The Open has been moved from its traditional weekend in March to a new place on the schedule: May 7-10. This change will offer warmer temperatures and a greener canopy on both courses.
In 2026, the Stetson's will be competed for on the same two courses as they were in 2025: Thursday and Friday at Sprinkle Valley DGC and Saturday and Sunday at The Open Course at Harvey Penick. Some changes will made to each course leading up to the event so be sure to check your caddy books prior to arriving in Austin. The courses are 10-15 minutes driving distance from each other depending on traffic.
We are looking forward to again working with the good folks at Sprinkle Valley DGC in producing this elite competition. Both course crews, Harvey Penick and Sprinkle Valley, are working hard and fast to have the courses in tip top shape by May. It's truly amazing what these teams do for the sport - thanks to all who step up each year to contribute!
As we continue to develop and grow this tournament we thank you, the players, for the important role you play in the popularity of the sport. We're looking forward to seeing all of you this May!

REGIONAL QUALIFIER on March 6-8
We are pleased to announce for the third year running our Regional Qualifier will be the Crush On The Concho. Thanks again to the good folks at Low Putt and the San Angelo disc golfers for hosting.
Two MPO and two FPO spots in The Open at Austin will be awarded at the Crush. The top two Crush finishers in MPO and FPO who are not already registered in The Open will be guaranteed a spot if they accept. If the qualifying player declines the spot will go to the next eligible player in finishing order. Note, the qualifying players are still responsible for their entry fee ($350) into The Open.
Minimum rating requirements are now: MPO 950 / FPO 850
Cut - After 3 rounds, there the field size will cut to 70% for MPO and 75% for FPO. This has been updated from the original number of 40% and 50%
Good luck at the Crush and we’ll see you at The Open!
