About this tournament

This is the inaugural Culpeper Mayday Challenge. This tournament is benefitting the Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs, which provides peer-to peer support and resources for military service members, veterans, and first responders battling post traumatic stress. Please visit mightyoaksprograms.org for more information.
This is a 2-round tournament with staggered tee times. Tee times will be posted approximately 48 hours prior to the start of the tournament. Trophies will be awarded for 1st place in each division. Divisions with more than 10 players will have trophies awarded for 2nd and 3rd place as well.
All participants will receive a Dynamic Discs Player Pack which will include a towel, keychain, reusable score card, permanent marker, license plate frame, tournament disc, and more.
This tournament has an added feature: The Grow Disc Golf $5K/$10K Ace Challenge from Dynamic Discs. The rules are as follows:
Hole 12 on the morning round will have a tournament volunteer with a video camera. Each player will state their name, the disc they are throwing, and show the disc. The camera person will continue to record while the player throws. Should the player get an ace, the camera person and the player will immediately go to the basket and retrieve the disc, where the player will again state their name, state the disc they threw, and show the disc. If the player is using a Trilogy disc (Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, or Westside Discs), they will get paid $10,000. If they are throwing any other brand disc, they will receive $5,000. If multiple aces are thrown on Hole 12 during the morning round, the ace pot will be split evenly among those that threw an ace based on the disc they threw.
Examples:
If Player A throws a Trilogy disc for an ace and Player B throws a non-Trilogy disc for an ace, Player A will receive $5,000, or half of $10,000, and Player B would receive $2,500, or half of $5,000.
If both players aced with a Trilogy disc, they would both receive $5,000.
If both players aced with a non-Trilogy disc, they would receive $2,500 each.
The payout will happen approximately 10 business days after the tournament, by mail, directly from Dynamic Discs. The TD will collect the name and address of any winners of the challenge at the event. The videos of any aces will be uploaded to the tournament and DD social media pages for publicity. The entry fee for this challenge has been rolled into the tournament registration fee.
There will also be a CTP challenge on Hole 13 during the afternoon round. The buy-in for this has also been rolled into the registration fee.
The TD will be publishing a virtual players meeting approximately one week before the tournament, going over the rules to the above challenges, as well as course safety rules, course OB and other information vital to the tournament. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the TD, Jason Hierwarter at [email redacted].
