FAQ

What is this event?
This event is the embodiment of an idea (a dream) I had while on my quest to play every Disc Golf course in Michigan. I wanted to share the incredible experience I was having with people, and not just by telling them what I was doing - I wanted them to be able to experience it for themselves. Thus, the idea for a “Disc Golf Vacation Tour” was born.

Now, two years later, as someone who has played just about every last course in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, I know where the best of the best courses can be found. Anyone can search by 4+ stars on UDisc, but I have the experience to know where the hidden gems are; which courses might be a little bit overrated; and which ones are great, but you want to avoid on weekends so you can actually finish your round without being interrupted by joggers or people having a picnic in the fairway.

All of this and more have gone into my effort to put together 5 of Southwest Michigan's most memorable courses into a coherent & logistically feasible experience. I have coordinated with local guides at each course to ensure you will have a fantastic experience playing their course, and included donations of $10 per player to each course to ensure these courses can continue as top-tier Disc Golfing destinations well into the future.

But the goal of the event doesn't end with Disc Golf. One of my favorite things in my time traveling around and playing different courses has always been the people - people I meet in the parking lot or along the course and play out the rest of my round with, who share their local expertise & personality. This is represented both in the course guides who have volunteered to show first-timers through their home course, and by bringing together people from different walks of life into a group where we can share a common passion for Disc Golf, and make new memories all in one amazing weekend.

So ultimately, what is this event? It's a crazy dream of mine, and it's one I would LOVE to get to share with you!

How is this any different from me going on a trip to play the same courses with my friends?
At the end of the day, it doesn't have to be - but it offers the potential to be so much more!

First and foremost, I do hope that people sign up with their friends. We will be driving ourselves between locations, so if you have friends to carpool with, all the better! Additionally, we will have 5 people per cabin (each cabin has 5 separate beds), so having a buddy to bunk up with will also make things easier.

Where this weekend offers even more than a friend-group trip is the convenience. You won't have to plan anything, you'll get knowledgeable local guides at each course, you don't have to debate over which courses you're going to play, and meals are taken care of - all of these things mean more time for you with your friends, a better experience, and who knows, maybe you’ll make some new friends along the way!

What does the registration fee pay for?
Here is how the costs break down:
$100 - Lodging (All-Inclusive only)
$100 - Food & Snacks (All-Inclusive only)
$50 - Course Donations ($10 /5 Courses)
$100 - Organizer Stipend & Buffer
The final $100 is to compensate me for the time, effort, and expertise I am putting in to organize the event, and to make sure there is a buffer so that I'm at least breaking even (and can still run the weekend!), if we end up with less than full capacity.

Are there discounts available?
Since I can only take from a small portion of the budget, my ability to offer discounts is limited. However, the code 25OFFCCW2026 will get you $25 off registration for any package.

What is the lodging situation like?
I have reserved 4 “Deluxe 2-Room” Cabins at Jellystone Park™ in South Haven, MI. Each cabin has 5 beds, “two full size log beds with a single bunk above each one in the same room. A futon that folds down into a full size bed is located in the other room.”. Every person on the trip will have their own bed.

If you are interested in doing something different for lodging, just select the "On Your Own" package and meet up with us at each course.

So it's not a tournament?
Nope! It's just an opportunity to go play disc golf in new places with awesome people!

What layout will we be playing at each course?
Whichever one you want! This is your weekend to play these courses however will make you happy. Whether you want to play shorts, longs, doubles, skins, or CTP on every hole - we will spend a few minutes before each course grouping up so that everyone can play as close to the layout and format that they want as we can accommodate.
