History:
The Columbia Rediviva was a privately owned ship best known for going to the Pacific Northwest for the maritime fur trade in the late 1700’s. The mighty Columbia River is named after this amazing ship and in 1790 it became the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe! In addition, she was built in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1787, which was also the original name of the City of St. Helens where McCormick Park resides. The word Rediviva is latin and means revived, reborn, rebuilt, and/or renewed and I would like to bring the origin and history back by naming this fantastic tournament after it.
