About this tournament
1 round of play
2025 is here and MVP has released the discs for the MVP Circuit Challenge!
This year we have a lightweight Fission Trace, Particle Glow Uplink and the Electron Watt. The bonus disc this year is a Watermelon Fireball.
This is a 3 disc challenge being hosted at Pleasant View DGC. If you purchase the additional Watermelon Fireball, you will be allowed to also play with that disc.
Update! Free BBQ Lunch provided.
If you have attended one of my events previously, you will know that the money you pay for entry comes back to you at the end of the event in raffle prizes. This year we are also raising money to buy an extra basket for hole 7 long here at Pleasant View DGC. We have realized that a lot of folks really love long 7 as an option at any time and we want to try and make that happen. To make sure its clear, the prizes for the event come first, any left over funds will be put towards the purchase of another MVP Black Hole Pro. If you would like to donate outside of what is raised here, donations will be accepted.
Format:
The course will be 2 rounds of 10 holes (20 total) at the Pleasant View Disc Golf Course.
Signups in the morning, time TBD.
Players meeting, then a shotgun start.
You will be allowed to pick your card mates, but limit of 4 players per card.
When the round ends, there will be a short break to get the raffle stuff setup. CTP prizes will then be handed out and the raffle will begin. After the raffle, the Ace Pool will be resolved if no aces were hit by a throw off for CTP. The distance will be adjusted for the participants so all who are participating in the ace pool have a chance to win.
Ace pool and the watermelon fireball can be purchased on DGS at signup, edited and added after registration, or purchased day of for cash. Ace pool is 5 dollars, Watermelon Fireball is 25 dollars. Players pack is 46 dollars.
This event is not a singles competition for payout at the end. Side bets are encouraged though! The event is for fun and community and everyone to come out and have a good time and meet new people and try some discs you might not have tried otherwise. And as well, take home some goodies!
Raffle Prizes available will be updated in here when they have been determined. There will be large prizes down to smaller prizes. Many discs will be available for prizes, basket, bags as well as some other goodies.
When I am able to get the discs for the challenge in, I will be updating with a video of the prizes that came in and a list as well as the flights of the discs.
This years discs:
Fission Trace. Estimated flight #s are 11 | 5 | -1 | 2
Previously in 2019 MVP used the Trace, but it was max weight and difficult for everyone to throw. This year we have the lightweight Fission Trace which will be in the 150 class range which will make it far more accessible for all skill levels to throw it. So I am confident that the Ladies and the Juniors who attend shouldn't have any issue throwing this lighter disc as the complaints previously was that it was just to heavy.
Particle Glow Uplink. Estimated flight #s are 5 | 5 | -3 | 0.5
The uplink is a great flippy mid that is great for beginner throwers and low power throwers. For bigger arms its a hyzer flip monster. The particle glow, if you have not seen it previously, is super awesome at night and not blinding as well giving a great particle effect while its glowing.
Electron Watt. Estimated flight #s are 2 | 5 | -0.5 | 0.5
Watt is a super straight throwing putter in its current Neutron format. The electron watt will give you the ability to get the disc beat up a bit more and really dial in some different flights. And if you're one who loves to putt with the watt currently, this is gonna be what you've been waiting for.
Watermelon Fireball. Estimated flight #s are 9 | 3.5 | 0 | 3.5
It has fade. It's over stable. Not much else to say. If you already like the fireball, this is going to be even better for you.
