Thankyou for viewing the first ever Cherokee Cash Grab!
I'm sure some of you saw my initial plan for this event. Unfortunately, I cannot provide us amateur players with a sanctioned "cash equivalent" payout per PDGA 1.10. I have chosen to lift the PDGA sanction from the event to retain at least some of the initial integrity. By making this a non sanctioned round, you may now compete and be paid completely within the PDGA guidelines.
This tournament exist because I myself as a mediocre MA3 player have no interest in these BS player's packs with a draw string bag, rubber band bracelet, flash light, pair of socks, and a disc only good for a long water carry that isn't coming back home.
Who doesn't like the idea of stuffing their pockets with a little disc golf cheese?
The top 40% of each division will be splitting 98% of their generated pot. A full cost break down is listed below...
$25 Entry Fee Break Down
- $3 PDGA Fee
- Admin Fee will be 2% of each divisions pot. It will be less than $1 per player
- Approximately $21.50 from each player goes into payout!
The information listed below is an example only, the final values will be determined by the total number of registrants...
If any division within this tournament should achieve 20 players, the top 40% PayPal credit payout would be as follows:
- 1st $172
- 2nd $104
- 3rd $63
- 4th $38
- 5th $23
- 6th $14
- 7th $8
- 8th $5
I cannot prohibit unrated players from registering for the event but I can remove them. I intend to do so due to the amount of money up for grabs. If you're a sandbagger, shame on you. If you're not a sandbagger, go get a rating and register for the next one. Sorry.
All non pro rated players are welcome! I have intentionally kept the number of divisions low to increase the amount of prize money. 18 holes x 4 players = 72 player cap limit. I don't want to be out all day, the UT game starts at 3:30 PM so shotgun start it is! If this event fills up with any lightly populated divisions then they will be omitted in future events.
The course will play as standard based on signage. If time allows I would like to paint some c1 circles but no promises.
I will provide cases of water, the bathrooms will be open, parking will be a free for all. Caddies and Spectators welcome.
Ties for first place will be settled by a playoff starting on hole 1 and consisting of a 1,2,9 loop played until all placements are settled. If multiple divisions have ties for first place, all playoffs will be played at the same time. Ties for 2nd and below will be settled by a CTP played on hole 1 before playoffs begin.
