THE EVENT:
Chains for Chikumbuso is a one round, 18 hole disc golf fundraiser tournament for the Chikumbuso Disc Golf Course. Rounds will begin at reserved tee times to manage course traffic and allow players space to safely enjoy their round. Divisions are available for experienced disc golfers, newer players, and youth competitors. All participants will receive an event T-shirt, sticker, and additional food/goodies to be determined. In the spirit of fundraising and “Chikumbuso” (remembrance), this is a trophy-only event. The top 1-3 finishers in each division (based on size) will receive a prize to commemorate their achievement - some VERY cool things in store here :) Scoring will be kept through UDisc Live.
THE COURSE:
Chikumbuso Disc Golf Course is a privately owned 18 hole par 3 that is currently only available for events. While the holes max out at 300 feet, your shot shapes and accuracy will be tested throughout this rolling, lightly wooded park style track! Ownership intends to open up this hidden gem to private memberships in 2021. Be amongst the first in the area to try this truly unique, incredibly fun layout!
THE CAUSE:
Chikumbuso, a grassroots project in Ng’ombe, Zambia, provides an alternative lifestyle to the most vulnerable women and children in the township. Chikumbuso provides free schooling for the children, as well as adult training and capacity building, income generating activities and community building programs. Refund policy
Connecticut Shore Disc Golf Club is responsible for all refunds and cancellations. Cancellations less than two weeks prior to the event are only guaranteed a full refund if the vacant spot is filled.
