About this tournament

Welcome to the Capital Discs Open Presented by Upper Park Disc Golf and Driven by Innova! This event will be ran by Capital Discs with assistance of 2 Far Under Par which is owned by Greg Hill, who is also a member of Innova Discs and Upper Park Disc Golf. We will also have assistance from Jeff Wiechowski who is a team member of Innova Discs and Capital Discs.

This event has partnered with the Paul McBeth Foundation to assist them in funding their course development initiatives. Pool Assignments:

Pool A: MPO, FPO, FP40,MP40, MP50, MA1, and FA1
Pool B: MA2, MA3, FA2, FA3, FA40 and MA40 and MA50

Course Assignments:

Pool A will play the J North Layout Round 1 On Saturday and Round 3 on Sunday, and will play the J South Layout round 2 on Saturday.

Pool B will play the J South Layout Round 1 On Saturday and Round 3 on Sunday, and will play the J North Layout round 2 on Saturday.

Layout Assignments: (Subject to Change based on course conditions)

Everyone will play from the regular teepads.

Pro Clinic: Thursday, November 4

We will be hosting a Pro Clinic with Dylan Rees (Team Discraft Underground), Dan Brooks-Wells (Team MVP) and Casey Della-Penna (Team Latitude 64) the Thursday before the event. There will be 2 time slots available: 2pm - 4pm and 4pm - 6pm and you will get one on one time with each instructor. Awards Ceremony:

Sunday afternoon following round 3, we will be hosting field events, raffles and the awards ceremony! Top players will not only receive payouts, but also other prizes as well!

FOOD TRUCKS!!

All Day Sunday, we will have at least 2 food trucks on site.

Player packs for Everyone:

The retail value will be over $150! All players will receive an Innova custom disc designed by Todd Martin as well as a Tournament quarter zip sweatshirt. More items will be included in the player packs!

Payouts for Amateurs:

A gift voucher to Capital Discs or 2 Far Under Par. This voucher will be handed out on site if you are present after round 3! If you are not present or choose not to use it on site, you will receive a voucher for Capital Discs that can be used online via the email you registered with. Capital Discs and 2 Far Under Par will be set up on site.

Payouts for Pros:

$2000 Added cash to be spread out through all pro divisions. Cash will be payed out via PayPal unless the player does not have a PayPal account, then they can receive cash instead. If an amateur player competes in the pro division and wins cash, they can opt in to receive a Capital discs gift card instead so that they can keep their amateur status. If they accept the cash, they will be required by the PDGA to move to a pro status.

Field Events:

Following round 3 on Sunday, we will be having multiple Field events taking place. There will be distance competitions, ace runs to a basket pyramid, putting competitions, corn hole with minis and more! All options are free however if you want to win prizes, you will need to buy in! Prizes will include CASH, Baskets, bags, apparel, discs and more!

Raffles:

There will be tons of raffle prizes for this event consisting of Baskets, Bags, Limited Discs, additional Player Packs, Merchandise, Capital Disc Vouchers and MORE.
Tickets will be available to purchase Both Saturday and Sunday! Sunday afternoon, we will do the raffle drawing following round 3!

Volunteers:

As well all know, our sport has blown up in the past year and with that comes opportunities to take this sport to the next level! We are looking for any volunteers to make this the best tournament it can be! All volunteers will receive a custom stamp disc, a t-shirt and lunch will be provided. We are looking for businesses this event and make this tournament an even better event for the players and the community! We have different level sponsorship packages that we are offering businesses.

Refund policy

Capital Discs is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.

PDGA Policy:

A. Players MUST email or phone their withdrawals to the Tournament Director only at the contact information posted for the tournament. Discussions with persons other than the Tournament Director, including other tournament staff, shall not be considered official.

B. Players who have paid MORE than a nominal waitlist fee of $10 to be on an event’s waitlist who do not get into the event, or who officially request to withdraw from the waitlist prior to the event’s published closure of registration and waitlist replacements (within one week is recommended), will receive a 100% cash refund minus the $10 waitlist fee. Waitlist players who ONLY paid a nominal non-refundable waitlist fee of $10 will not receive a refund.

C. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event at least 30 days before the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund (minus up to a $10 handling fee).

D. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event 15 to 29 days before the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a $10 handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walk-up entry (if offered). If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 50% cash refund OR just the player’s pack the player would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping). In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 50% cash refund.

E. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event within 14 days of the start of the event and prior to the event’s published closure of registration and waitlist replacements (within one week is recommended) will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a $10 handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walk-up entry (if offered). If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 25% cash refund OR just the player’s pack they would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping). In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 25% cash refund.

F. Players who do NOT officially request to withdraw from a registered spot playing in the event prior to the published closure of registration and waitlist replacements and don’t play (aka a no-show), forfeit their entry fee and do NOT receive a refund or player’s pack. (This does NOT apply to a waitlist player; see 1.03.B above.)

G. Tournament Directors for Major, National Tour, and A-Tier events may petition the Tour Manager to change the timeline for items C, D, and E.

H. If granted, the policy must be clearly published with all registration materials.

I. If a TD vacates an offered division due to a lack of registered players for the division (see 2.01.K), any player for that division that does not wish to move to a different division that they are eligible for, will be provided a full refund.
