PDGA and NEFA (pending) two round, one day tournament
We have a unique course in Calico Creek at the NEDGC in Southwick, MA:
• True New England woods golf, but with shorter holes, on a property 100% dedicated to disc golf.
• Rounds typically take around two hours. For older players not willing and able to play six hours in one day on a "big course" this might have some appeal.
• Green layout is very rec/beginner friendly. PDGA 800 rated players can shoot par and will have birdie opportunities.
• Red layout is setup so a 900 rated player can score under par, but still have some challenging holes.
MA 40 and all Pro divisions will play both rounds on the Red Layout.
FA40 and MA50 will play the first round on the Green Layout and the second round on the Red Layout.
All other divisions will play both rounds on the Green Layout.
EVENT PARTICIPANT COVID-19 WAIVER:
"I understand that participation in this event carries with it risk of injury or death and I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns expressly release, forever discharge, and hold harmless Ed Faits, Andrew Gardner, Freda Brown, the New England Disc Golf Center and the PDGA (the "Releasees") for all personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death in connection with my participation in this event. Further, I understand and acknowledge that there currently exists a global pandemic associated with the disease COVID-19, that I am participating in this event at my own risk, that any safety precautions designed to protect against the spread of COVID-19 undertaken by the Releasees does not guarantee I will not contract COVID-19, and that, the foregoing notwithstanding, it is my specific intent to affirm my foregoing release of the Releases with respect to any personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death I may experience from COVID-19 in connection with my participation in this event."
Refund
We will hold this event in accordance with the current Covid mandate in the state of MA at the time of the event in September, 2021.
This might not be a tournament for everyone. If you are looking for a tournament on a challenging course you might want to avoid the amateur divisions that will play on the Green Layout. The Green Layout may be ideal for people that do not frequently play existing tournaments who would like a less demanding "taste" of age-appropriate competition.
Pro divisions will pay out in cash. All Pro players play for a full cash payout minus included $5 greens fee.
For Amateur Division this is a “True Amateur” event, each player will receive a player pack valued more than the buy-in. Each player will pay a $5 greens fee which is included in the tournament entry fee buy-in.
There will be a medal for first place in all divisions
We will be using PDGA Digital score card. For a tutorial, please check out this link https://youtu.be/uLwjli9bC-g
Official course layouts will be finalized for the Saturday prior to the event date
A box lunch will be offered for purchase on the day of the event please bring cash
