About this tournament
10 rounds of play
Welcome to the 5th edition of the Burnaby Summer League. You might have heard about it, and wondered should I try this? The answer is YES! Great way to play with like-minded people, very cool atmosphere and prizes every week. All skills are welcomed! It's all about improving your game in a fun environment.
Here's what you need to know:
- League will run on Tuesday nights at 6:30 PM, from June 9 to August 11 (10 rounds). Might need to adjust time for the last two rounds depending on daylight.
- PDGA rated league. Each round you attend goes towards your PDGA rating, but you don’t need to be a PDGA member to participate. Rating is compiled and applied once the league report has been submitted at the end of the 10 weeks.
- WHO CAN PLAY: Anyone can play, even if you are not a member of Burnaby Disc Golf Club. Obviously, we would like you to be a member at some point because Burnaby is awesome! League will be capped at 60 players. No registration past June 8. No drop-in this year. You are either in or not.
- HOW MUCH: Men's divisions are $30, Women's divisions are $20, Juniors are $10! You can also pay a one time ace pot fee of $10 for the season (has to be paid before league starts). Ace pot will be divided between those who will have aced during the season. If no ace is hit after the 10 weeks, random draw between 3 people, 1 chance per round played (the more you play, the better your odds).
- WHERE DO WE PLAY: Robert Burnaby and Central Park (green fees apply) will be the two courses used during league.
- RANKINGS: At the end of the 10 weeks, you will be seeded for playoffs (playoffs are not PDGA rated). The average of your best 5 ratings will determine your rank. 1st in each division with 4 players or more will get preferential seeding. For example, winner of MA3 will be seeded higher than 2nd in MA1 even if rating is lower.
- PLAYOFFS: Top 32 MEN, single elimination bracket (1 vs 32, 2 vs 31 and so on), TOP 16 for WOMEN. Juniors TBD. Trophies awarded at the end of playoffs for MEN and WOMEN with name engraved on the trophy. Winners get to keep the trophy for one year.
CTPs at the end of each round. Gift cards from It's Okay Bar in East van (almost $1000 in gift cards this year!), gift cards from Rare Discs, discs from Prodigy and other prizes, in round CTPs too.
