About this tournament

The course designers of Broken Chains are hosting a unique fundraising doubles tournament. The course, which has been operational since April 2021, is a fun mix of technical open and wooded holes, both long and short. The concrete tee pads are 5 feet by 14 feet, and the baskets are Prodigy T2. Broken Chains has a 4.5 rating on UDisc (577 reviews).

The "golf triathlon" aspect of the event is as follows: Holes 1-6 will be scored using the combined individual scores of team members. Holes 7-12 will be scored using the best individual score of the team members, and holes 13-18 will be scored using the scramble/best shot format.

Ties will be broken with a playoff.

First place team will receive gold medals; second place silver medals, and third place bronze medals.

All players will receive a commemorative marker disc.

In addition to providing the fun and challenge of disc golf tournament play, the purpose of "Doubles Trouble" is to raise funds for baskets for alternate basket locations for several holes of Broken Chains, and to provide financial support for Cambodia Impact, an organization which seeks to address the needs of the substantial orphan population in Cambodia. Duffy Sample, one of the course designers and the impetus for the creation of Broken Chains, has spent time in Cambodia with Cambodia Impact.

The Christian Life Center will be hosting a family event, their Fall Festival, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the day of tournament, as well. Activities include a car show, food trucks, kids games, etc.
