About this tournament

Some important last-minute details for the Boulder County Disc Golf Championships.

Saturday morning check-in at all three courses starts at 7:30. There will be a player meeting on each course at 8:10. All players will pick up player pack items when they go to Kensington. Please arrive early at Kensington to handle this.

We will be using PDGA live for scoring. Card assignments will be posted Saturday morning. Please log in tomoprrow morning to find your card assignment and starting hole. The event is "Boulder County Disc Golf Championships", and the password is "bcdgc".

Scoring is a little complicated because of the 27-hole layout at three 9-hole courses, so read this next part carefully! Scoring should start on the hole number you start on. Once you hit hole 9, loop back to 1...don't go to 10. This looping will be done for each round of 9! For example, if you start on hole 3 at your first course, please start scoring on hole 3. Score 3-9, then 1-2. On the next course, you start play on hole 3, and start scoring on 12. You loop scoring at 18 back to hole 10. On the last course, you would start play on hole 3, and start scoring on hole 21. Scoring for each card will go to 27 then loop back to 19. Please check with your course TD if there's any uncertainty about how to do this.

Centennial course map and notes have been updated. The only change there is to make clear that the creek and beyond is OB on relevant holes.

There will be a card CTP at Kensington for a microfiber towel. Each card's CTP will win the towel.

On Sunday, the awards ceremony is at Avery Brewing in the Gunbarrel area. Go from your round to Avery. The ceremony will be OUTSIDE, please bring WARM CLOTHING. Estimated start time for awards is 4:30.

There will be a raffle at the player party for a 24-chain Innova EZ basket. In addition, there will be tournament-stamped discs for sale at the party.

Welcome to the inaugural Boulder County Disc Golf Championships powered by Innova! This tournament is a joint production of the Boulder Disc Golf Club and the Longs Peak Disc Golf Club. We're excited to invite you to play and to crown the county's first disc golf champions. There are important details below and we encourage you to read this email carefully. The time to ask for clarification is now, before competition starts!

This event is a little different than most in that we are playing five different courses in the 2 cities, most of which are 9-hole courses. Everyone will be playing a 27 hole layout in Longmont on Saturday, and a 27 hole layout in Boulder on Sunday. Each of these layouts is a combination of that day's courses. There are two implications to this:

(1) Players will stay in the same group that they start the day in ALL DAY. Cards WILL NOT shuffle between courses. Cards will be adjusted for Sunday's rounds.

(2) You will start each 9-hole round on the same hole number, each time that you move courses. For example if a player starts at hole three at Kensington on Saturday, they will then start on hole three at Westview and then on hole three at Centennial.

Pool C's Sunday morning round at Valmont will be the only exception to this. While pool B players will start on holes 1-9, pool C players will start on holes 10-18. All pools will play 18 consecutive holes at Valmont. At Harlow Platts later on Sunday, pool C players will need to subtract 9 from their Valmont starting hole to find their Harlow starting hole. For example, players starting on hole 12 at Valmont would start on Harlow hole 3, and those starting on 18 at Valmont would start on 9 at Harlow.

The three pools are divided as follows:

Pool A is all pro divisions (MPO, FPO, MP40, MP50)
Pool B is all advanced divisions (MA1, FA1, MA40, FA40, MA50)
Pool C is all recreational and intermediate divisions (MA2, FA2, MA3)

Please see the pool course schedules and course maps and notes, linked below.

PDGA Live scoring will be in effect and is the preferred method for recording scores. The password for this event is "bcdgc". You will only need to log in once each day, as the layout will be set up for a 27 hole scoring format.

There will be a player meeting at your first course ONLY each day, 20 minutes prior to the starting time. You are expected to be at your starting hole when the round is scheduled to begin. Anyone not at their hole at the start receives par plus 4 strokes for each missed hole until they arrive. If you have layout questions between rounds please address them with the COURSE TD prior to the next round.

Course TDs are:
Kensington - Andy Jacobson
Wildcat Ridge (Westview Middle School) - Amy Sindler
Clark Centennial - James Hagerott
Valmont - Taylor Adams and Cassion Waller
Harlow Platts - Andy Jacobson

Awards and the player party are at Avery Brewing (4910 Nautilus Ct N, Boulder, CO 80301) starting soon after the final round completes, think perhaps 5pm. Course assignments by pool are in the schedule document (see links, below).

Player packs will be available at Kensington on Saturday. If you are in pool B or C, please make sure to pick up your player pack before your round at Kensington.

Each 9-hole round is scheduled to take 90 minutes. Please keep your group moving promptly to ensure that the competition stays on schedule. Any excess time needed by your group to complete the round will have to come out of your travel time to the next course.
