Forest Preserves of Cook County Tour Series:
The Blanding's Turtle Open is the third and final stop on Disc Golf Chicago’s Cook County Forest Preserve Tour Series. The Series has been developed in collaboration with the Forest Preserve to explore how the sport of disc golf and its community can support the mission of the Forest Preserve to preserve natural spaces and provide inclusive educational and recreational opportunities.
The Blanding’s Turtle Open ends the tour and explores the preserve at St. Paul Woods with an exciting temporary course.
Each stop on the tour celebrates a local endangered species. The Blanding's Turtle is semi-aquatic and are dependent upon both wetland and open canopy upland habitat for survival. A distinguishing feature of this turtle is the bright yellow chin and throat. The primary threat to Blanding's turtle is habitat fragmentation and destruction as well as nest predation by unnaturally large populations of predators. The species was designated as endangered in the state of Illinois in 2009. Check out the Forest Preserves efforts to help conserve and educate about this amazing turtle!

This tournament will consist of two rounds with a shotgun start. Please refer to the event schedule for more details.
Player Packs:
All registered players will receive the following:
- Tour series stamped Discmania premium disc
