About this tournament
BIRDIE BASH SHOOTOUT CADDY BOOK
The Birdie Bash Shootout is all about aggressive play. Every throw is an attempt at a hole in one or a birdie. Tee boxes will be closer (almost all Red), all baskets will be the easier/closer option, and no mandos or out of bound rules…pure Go For It Fun!
This is a FREE event. The purpose is to gather friends and park neighbors together for some real Thanksgiving fun. Every player should bring a disc for the winner's pot or $5. Ace Pot ($3) is optional...there will be multiple aces since five holes are on the putting course. You can show up and register or use this site.
Use any PDGA approved disc you want.
Start: At 7:50am, foursomes will be organized in a random fashion. Youth, 13 and under will be in their own group(s). The idea is not have players all of the same caliber in a foursome.
Shotgun start at 8am; Physical scorecard (provided) must be submitted. Birdie Bash course is also on UDisc and it recommended to do both for better accuracy, but it is up to each player to make sure physical score card is correct.
Only throw twice (despite the stated par). There are no points possible on third throw. Pick up disc and move on; NO SLOW PLAY.
To score points, throw one of the following:
• Ace/Eagle (hole in one): 5 points
• Birdie (in basket in second throw): 2 points
• Metal Hit (including sign on top & support pole): 1 point each time/per throw
• If no points are scored on a hole, the player whose disc is closest to the pin after everyone in your group throws two throws (only one person in foursome): 1 point
SCORING EXAMPLES
Example 1: Your drive hits the basket but does not go in. You drain your birdie putt. You earn 3 points: 1 point for the metal hit on the drive, 2 points for the birdie.
Example 2: Your drive lands 150 feet away. Your 2nd shot is straight but low and hits the post. You earn 1 point. Do NOT putt out.
Example 3: No one in your foursome hits the basket or any metal part of the basket after two throws. Your disc is closest to the basket. You earn 1 point; all other players in your group get no points.
One player should be at the basket at each hole as a spotter to see if metal contact is made (put any spectators to work if they are walking with you). Rotate this duty at each hole to share the workload. Do not base this on low score.
Playing fields are expected to be active with football, so we are avoiding them.
