About this tournament

Welcome to the 8th year of the Barboursville Open. This is a 2 Round, 1 Day C Tier event is Sponsored by MVP. We will be utilizing Barboursville City Park and the Jason Wintz Memorial DGC. We are teaming up with MVP to make this year’s Bville Open one of the largest to date. The Players Pack has a Retail Value of $85 plus we will be giving away SIX MVP Black Hole Pro Baskets (Retail value of $135 per), SIX MVP Pod Disc Stands (Retail value $85 per), and 72 MVP cell bags. This event will be a True Amateur trophy only with an additional bonus payout on top of all that will be offered. (Will payout 25% of spots for each division). More information will be detailed below.
The players pack will consist of:
•Neutron Drift
•Neutron Hex
•Electron Entropy
•1 MVP Lab Second Disc
The 2 largest divisions 1st place prize will win an MVP Black Hole Pro Basket. (2 Baskets Total)
The 3rd-5th largest divisions 1st place will win an MVP Pod Stand. (3 Stands total)
Each Junior and Female participant in FP/FA and MJ/FJ divisions will be entered to be randomly drawn to win 1 MVP Black Hole Pro Basket and 1 MVP Pod Disc Stand.
The first 65 to sign up will receive an MVP Cell bag and will be entered into a raffle to win 2 MVP Black Hole Pro Baskets.
Ace Pot: Cash Payout per pool plus an MVP Pod Disc Stands for the first Ace of the day. If no Aces are hit, we will raffle off the Pod along with 50% of the Ace Pot. The other 50% will go into the courses for improvements and maintenance.
We will have 3 layouts for Wintz this year. Pool A will be playing all of the regular tees, Pool B will be playing a Modified Regular Tees with just a few short Tees, and Pool C will be playing the Modified Temp layout similar to last year. We plan on getting the layouts completed well ahead of the tourney and on Udisc to give players ample time to practice.
Playoff to break ties for first place for Pool A will be Sudden Death starting on Hole 1 and so on at Wintz until a winner has been deemed.
For Pool B, the Sudden Death playoff will start on hole 18A on the Barboursville DGC (Shorts) and will continue on to hole 1 and so on until a winner has been deemed.
Any refund requests will follow the PDGA’s Withdraw and Refund Policy.
Must be 4 in division to receive the main trophy. 3 and under will have a smaller trophy.
