About this tournament
PDGA MEMBERSHIP NOT REQUIRED
The BDGA University Championship is proudly back again for 2023 and is being hosted at Longford Park, Manchester! Two 18 hole rounds using the red layout will be played to crown our student champions. A non-student open division will also be run this year to help introduce students to the wider disc golf community! Finally, it will be proudly supported once again by Ace Disc Golf and also a new supporter for 2023, Prodiscus!
5 divisions are on offer at this tournament:
M/FSE = Student ONLY experienced division (>1 year playing/ above rating cap for normal M/FA4)
M/FSB = Student ONLY beginner division (<1 year playing)
Non-student division (no trophy)
Players will be sorted into the relevant open/amateur divisions (e.g. non-students to MPO, exprienced to A1 and beginners to A4) for PDGA scoring after the registration period is over.
For your entry fee expect the following:
- Tournament logo stamped Prodiscus Premium Stari
- Event photography
- Disc vending by Ace Disc Golf
There won't be prizes for placing in divisions (beyond the trophy), we would rather use player fees to deliver a higher value event to everyone!
M/FS divisions will function as student only divisions (as per the requirements outlined in the Participation and Student Eligibility Rules on the event website). A non-student open division is also being offered and competitors will receive the same player pack and entry fee benefits, but no divisional trophy. The TD reserves the right to move/refund places incorrectly registered for. PDGA membership is not required for competitors.
Current students AND students who completed their course in the 2022/23 academic year (who would have fulfilled the eligibility requirements for an event run in July 2023) are eligible to register for student divisions (M/FS) at this event (you don't have to be part of a disc golf club). Students from the 2022/23 academic year will not be eligible for consideration for spots on the UK Universities College Disc Golf team. Two divisions of player standard will be available for both mixed and female-only student fields (4 total divisions). The experienced divisions (M/FSE) are intended for players with greater than one year playing or tournament experience, and beginners (M/FSB) is for players with less than one year playing and no tournament experience. These are loose guidelines and the tournament team reserves the right to ask players to move division to maintain the spirit of the competition.
