    Round 1 Tee-off:

At 8:28 am we will yell “Two Minutes” for a two minute warning, when heard, players are expected to echo the two minutes across the course. At which point all practice strokes will stop and you will head to your assigned starting hole if you are not there already. PDGA rules apply. If the warning is not heard the two minutes will start exactly at 8:28 am no exceptions! Please be sure to check your emails for any changes.

We will begin the tournament by yelling “Start!” Once again players will be expected to echo “start” across the course. If not heard the tournament will be starting at 8:30 am no exceptions. This tournament will be using digital scorecard and a paper scorecard will be provided at your starting hole. At the end of the round you will submit your digital scorecard and paper cards will go back to the TD.

    11:30am - 11:50am

    Lunch:

We understand that some cards may have more time than others for lunch. We will not be starting the second round early. We may even start late (for example waiting on juniors) so be prepared to wait a little bit if you finish early to allow slower cards time to eat.

    12:00pm

    Round 2 Tee-off:

At 11:58 am we will yell out “Two Minutes” for the two minute warning, when heard, players are expected to echo the two minutes warning across the course. At which point all practice strokes will stop and you will head to your assigned starting hole if you are not there already. PDGA rules apply. If the warning is not heard the two minutes will start exactly at 11:58 am no exceptions! Please be sure to check your emails for any changes.

We will begin the second round by yelling “Start!” Once again players will be expected to echo “start” across the course. If not heard the second round will be starting at 12:00 pm no exceptions. This tournament will be using digital scorecard and a paper scorecard will be provided at your starting hole.

About this tournament

About The 4th Annual Monster Shootout

Thank you for participating this year in the 4th annual Monster Memorial Day Shootout. This event is a spin-off of my favorite program, “Early Birds” that used to run every Monday at 10 AM at Alton Baker. Five years ago, Memorial Day was approaching and we decided that we should run a tournament. It would be a great way to get more players to show up on Monday’s and now here we are!
This year may be the most meaningful tournament yet, for this event we are going to do all that we can for our dear friends Erik “Buck” Smith who is beating cancer, and Stan “El Perro” Larson who unfortunately has passed away. We would like to do everything within our power to support “Buck” and Stan’s loving wife Pam.
We understand that last year was not ran as effectively as it could have been because of some lack of expectations and some communication issues with players. This year we will be sure to provide you with clear expectations and we will adhere to them with due diligence. Please make sure to provide your correct email address so you can keep up with any changes that may occur or any changes that will come up as we prepare. This year’s registration for the tournament will be closing two days before the tournament starts. We will not be holding spots or accepting late entries. The cost of the tournament has unfortunately increased from last years entry fee. As with all things in the past, prices have gone up. In order for us to run this tournament effectively we have to cover costs of gas, flags, scrip, cost of services, ect.
This years Memorial Day Shootout will be the biggest yet, with two rounds of eighteen holes! The most exciting part is the opportunity for a life changing shot. Hole twelve will be in the 300’ position for an open run and if anyone hits an ace with a Trilogy disc manufactured by Dynamic Disc, Westside Discs or Latitude 64 will win $10,000.00, hit it with a disc from another manufacturer and win $5,000.00 instead either way, very exciting!
If anyone has any questions I want you to contact me at my personal cell number 541-729-6347. I am available to answer any questions or concerns immediately. This is also the number to reach me at if you have any suggestions. As a team we will consider your suggestions and thank you kindly if we don’t use them.
