About this tournament

The Summit DGA is excited to bring you the details of the 2nd Annual Rubber City Classic - Powered by Nhalabes, Driven by Quonset Hut. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on October 1st, 2nd & 3rd at Silver Creek Metro Park. It’s going to be an amazing tournament and we’re glad you’re along for the ride.

Below are the details for our Friday Night Kickoff Event and Players Pack Pickup, along with additional information for the weekend. We’ll post more details as we get closer to the start of the tournament. In addition, every player will receive a digital Players Handbook approximately 72-hours before the event with all the details for the event.

Friday, October 1st

If you’re looking for a little warm-up for the Rubber City Classic, we’re thrilled to announce the Brighten Brewing Brouhaha; an 11-hole non-sanctioned tournament followed by a Kickoff Party at Brighten Brewing in Copley.

From 2:00pm - 6:00pm, a flex-start 11-hole tournament will be open to all players of the Rubber City Classic. The entry fee is two canned food items, which will be collected and distributed to help fight hunger in Ohio by CannbisCanOhio.org.

We’ll have four general (all ages, all genders) divisions (Open, Advanced, Intermediate, and Recreational). Players will choose the division which best fits them, with cards determined/assigned as players arrive. The winner of each division will receive a prize package, and we’ll have a CTP prize package for each division. Winners will be announced at the Kickoff Party following the event. If a winning player is not present, the prize will be awarded on Saturday.

All players will play the short tees on holes 1-10 & 18 using UDisc scoring. Players may start as early as 2:00pm and must tee off no later than 6:00pm.

Players Pack Pick-Up

In addition to the tournament, any amateur player may stop by Silver Creek Metro Park to pick up their Player’s Pack between 2:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday. Player Packs may also be picked up on Saturday prior to your tee time.

We’re extremely excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Dynamic Discs to bring amateur players an amazing Player’s Pack. Below is a list of items included in this year’s pack. The discs, mini, and dri-fit shirt will have custom stamping and designs. A HUGE thank you to Summit DGA Board Member Tera Blair for all of her hard work in helping create the amazing designs for this year’s tournament.

Note: While all amateur players will receive at least one of the following, we have limited quantities of discs, designs, and colors of the various items. We’ll have tables set up on Friday, so players can choose the items and discs they prefer. Player’s Pack items will be distributed on a first-come, first-choice basis. Any player picking their pack up on Saturday will have a pre-assembled pack. We highly recommended picking up your pack on Friday to ensure you get the colors or discs you prefer.

Player’s Party

Following pack pick-up, we’ll be hosting a kickoff party at Brighten Brewing in Copley, starting around 7:30pm. The brewery is located approximately 8-9 minutes from Silver Creek Metro Park. The brewery serves a variety of freshly brewed beers and has soda and snacks available. Players are encouraged to bring spouses, partners, friends, and family to celebrate the tournament.

Any player who attends the party will receive a Buy One Pint, Get One Pint Free coupon (redeemable only that evening). We’ll announce the winners of the 11-Hole Tournament, CTP’s, and share disc golf stories as we prepare for our big weekend.

NOTE: Brighten Brewery does not serve food. There is a Subway and Big Star Pizza located on either side that is open to roughly 830pm/9pm. In addition, the brewery will have Samurai Dynasty food truck on-site till at least 9pm.

To help the brewery prepare accordingly, we’ll be sending out an RSVP email about a week before the event.
