About this tournament
2 rounds of play
2026 WGE Animas Spring Fling
On May 19th and 20th, Margaret Patterson (Tournament Director) with the support of Colorado Timberline Academy and Durango Disc Golf Club will host their first ever WGE event!
All registrants will play two rounds of disc golf at the Colorado Timberline Academy (7 miles north of Durango, CO). The rounds will be the evenings of May 19 and May 20, starting around 5pm each day.
What is the WGE?
The 2026 Women's Global Event (WGE) will take place May 15 - 25, 2026. Women from all around the world will play two rounds of disc golf at their local participating PDGA Women's Global Event. Scores from the first two rounds of each participating tournament will be submitted by the tournament director(s) and rated by the PDGA. These round ratings will be totaled and averaged to determine the player's "Global Score."
More info about the PDGA WGE can be found here: https://www.pdga.com/women/global-event
The PDGA has waived PDGA membership requirements and player fees for this event
WHY SHOULD I REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT?
"women from all over the world are playing with her that day”
The purpose of the WGE is to celebrate and promote women in disc golf by creating an inclusive and empowering experience that unites players worldwide. This ladies-only event is a perfect introduction to tournament-play and offers a unique opportunity to verify a player's "Global Score" / standing.
While being part of a global event, you also get the opportunity to meet other female disc golfers from the region.
REGISTRATION FEES
Registration fees have been kept low to encourage participation. If the registration fee is a barrier to participation, please contact the tournament director for a fee waiver. There are volunteer course preparation opportunities available in exchange for a fee waiver.
DISC GOLF CLINICS
Two free clinics will be offered prior to the tournament. The first will be March 23 at 5:30 pm at Fort Lewis College. The second will be May 3 at 2pm at CTA.

Women of all ages and skills are always welcome at the Durango Ladies Disc Golf League Monday nights at Fort Lewis College (details on UDisc Events or contact Margaret directly).
THE COURSE
This breathtaking course is a treat in and of itself. It sits on the bank of the Animas River (but water only comes slightly into play on 2-3 holes) with incredible views of the Red Cliffs overlooking the valley. There will be a special layout for this tournament that should make the course a bit friendlier than usual. There will be a variety of hole lengths and a couple of par 4's.
PRACTICE
Colorado Timberline Academy is a private course. Registered participants may practice at CTA for free on Sunday May 10 and Sunday May 17. Please be mindful of the fact that this is a school property and act accordingly. Likewise, please refrain from any smoking due to fire danger.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
All Professional & Amateur divisions will play 2 rounds; both rounds will be reported to the PDGA.
Junior divisions will play 1 round only (Tuesday).
PAYOUTS & PRIZES
Pro Division winners accepting cash will be paid via PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the event.
All registrants who sign up amateur Divisions by Sunday April 26 will receive a players pack with at least two discs and other excellent goodies. (Late registrants will receive a players pack if supplies allow.)
All divisions will have CTP prizes to play for throughout the tournament.
There will be no trophies for the event.
