About this tournament

Timaru Disc Golf is excited to present the 2026 Lake Takapō Open — a new one-day tournament set against the stunning backdrop of the glacial blue waters of Lake Tekapo/Takapō. Players will compete across both permanent courses, with a few special tweaks and added challenges. Depending on numbers, divisions will be split between the two courses, with every player taking on one round of 18 at each, ensuring a full day of competitive disc golf in one of New Zealand’s most scenic locations.

This will also be a 50 point NZDG Tour Event.

Accommodation - Haka House
We’re stoked to have Haka House on board sponsoring the event, and they’ve provided a discount code for players on sign up. This will cover stay dates from May 14th - May 18th. Check the tournament welcome message on your sign up receipt for the discount code.

Refund policy

Timaru Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event on or before 5pm Thursday May 14th will receive a 100% refund of their entry fee, minus PayPal fees and Disc Golf Scene fees

Players who officially request to withdraw from this event after 5pm Thursday May 14th are not entitled to a refund.

100% of any extras purchased will be refunded.

If spot is filled by another player from the waitlist, all refunds will be 100%, minus PayPal fees and Disc Golf Scene fees
