About this tournament
2 rounds of play
It is once again time for the Fall Classic! Join you fellow disc enthusiasts for a weekend of exciting tournament play. The spectacular rolling fairways, elevation and, yes -water hazards, combine to make the course a terrific mix of challenge and fun. This year will have an updated layout, with alternate pin positions on several holes changing from day one and two. This will not only add to the excitement, but provide better spectating for the final rounds.
The new alternate pin placements will be in place as much as possible leading up the event, as the regular positions have been in place for most of the season already. Note that there will be different basket placements for the tournament for each day of play in addition to some divisions playing different pads for day 1 and 2. The caddy booklet will cover all of the details. The layouts for each day will be posted in Udisc, they will also be sent out via e-mail over the labour day long weekend.
Tee times will be set and posted once registration has closed. Unfortunately there will be no additional practice times available this year, so get out Saturday nights if you want to get practice rounds in beforehand. September 6th will be TEE TIMES ONLY with no dubz to make as many tee times available as possible. Please try to have a full card if you have a tee time so that everyone can get out and play.
Schedule information:
Thursday September 11th - PLAYER'S MEETING/ HANG OUT 5-7PM at WINTERLONG BREWING "Mandatory" is in quotes here, which means that you should make every effort to attend this event and if you can not please let us know so we can have a players pack set aside for you with your scorecard. This will be a fun hangout with a brief informational portion to address the caddy booklets and give opportunity to ask any questions regarding the layout/OB/rules, etc. It is very challenging to answer questions on the day of the event so help out by asking them at the meeting! Additionally this is at our title sponsor's venue, Winterlong Brewing. They have once again stepped up and made this tournament a better event, so this meetup is a very important opportunity to show them some love, buy a beverage, or snack and give a little something back to the people who have been making this event the best it can be, year after year.
Thursday September 11th - FUN TIMES TOONIE DUBZ 7:30 @ Goldenhorn School. To continue the fun and give people a chance to meet players they don't know we will have a fun times 2$ dubz round after the player's meeting. It will be random flip and then a shotgun start. Let's get warmed up with some aces!!
Saturday September 13th - Day one of the tournament at Meadow Lakes. Tee times will begin at 12pm to allow for any potential frost delays. It is vital you show up early, you should be at the tee pad with your scorecard a MINIMUM of 5 minutes before you tee off. Tee times will be up as soon as the registration closes but the divisions will play in the following order:
U15, FA55, FA3, FA40, FA2, FA1, MA55, MA40, MA3, MA2, MA1, FPO, MPO
Sunday September 14th - Day two of the tournament. Tee times will begin at 12 again with the same order for the divisions. The tee times for each card within the divisions will be based on scores from the previous day. Please get out and spectate if you can when you have finished your round!!
Sunday September 14th - Wrapup BBQ and awards. Food will be served when the last card is finishing up (traditionally 630ish) and the awards will begin as soon as the scores have been totalled. Please make sure to hand in your signed scorecards as soon as you finish your round (before you go spectate) to help this go smoothly.
Should you have any questions please e-mail Josh at [email redacted]
We will see you on the course!
Your tournament fee will include 2 days of green fees, a fun players pack, caddy book, potential prizes, trophies for division winners, as well as dinner during the awards ceremony.
