About this tournament
The Syracuse Open is gearing up to take another step forward in Year 3!
Pros will be vying for a minimum of $10,000 added cash, thanks in part to our returning title sponsor The Pies Guys! Gatekeeper Media and Hyzermedia will be filming all three rounds with Gatekeeper Media posting the front nines and Hyzermedia posting the back nines.
A HUGE thank you to Reis and The Pies Guys for helping us put together one of the largest pro purses in the Northeast. The Pies Guys will also be providing lunch for all players on Saturday once again.
All pros and MA1 will be playing Clay East and Clay West on Saturday. Shotgun start with groups switching courses after lunch. The final round will be tee times at Van Buren on Sunday.
All other amateurs will be playing Oxbow and Sullivan (white tees) on Saturday (shotgun start, lunch in between rounds), followed by a final round at Clay on Sunday (AM shotgun start, mixed layout). ATD Jeff Gilbert will be on-site at these courses making sure everything runs smoothly.
All ams will receive a players pack as well as compete for payout from Rapid Rivers Disc Golf, which will be on-site vending at Oxbow on Saturday and Van Buren on Sunday. Thanks to Josh McClennon and Rapid Rivers for their steadfast support of the Syracuse Open series, including contributing $1,000 to the event this year.
The split field is an adjustment, but one we hope will allow the event to keep growing while maintaining the competitive significance and fun factor that we strive for with The Syracuse Open. Everyone will still get to chow down on delicious specialty pies and boneless wings from our title sponsor, The Pies Guys, at lunch on Saturday. We'll all link up for the players party at Home Team Pub on Saturday night. And ams will have enough time to drive from Clay to Van Buren on Sunday to watch the MPO lead card go off.
Divisions of three or fewer may be combined.
First-place trophies for all divisions of at least four players. Additional trophies will depend on division breakdown.
Added cash will be capped at $75 per player in age-protected divisions with the remainder being split between MPO and FPO on a per-player basis.
Pool B division caps will be dropped at least two weeks before the event.
Much, much more to come as the event draws nearer. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you want to sponsor or collaborate, or just have a question.
