About this tournament
1 round of play
For our sixth event this season Disconsin Disc Golf Club joins the Flying Ormans in welcoming our Junior competitors to our home course in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
Three-Ring Juniors events are truly designed with young players of all ages and skill levels in mind. No PDGA membership is required for C-Tier events and there are no non-member fees for Junior divisions. For the youngest divisions we will use the 150 foot and under Junior Tee Layout as the main tees may be frustratingly long to little arms. We set division layouts for each event with the specific players registered for that event in mind so you may get an email from us asking about your junior players' experience.
This event will be one round of 18 holes. The top 3 finishers in each division will get a trophy regardless of division size. This tournament is the final event in a points series and players will be awarded points based on event participation and standings at the end of an event with the players in each division who earn the most points over the course of the season being awarded a trophy for being the series winner for their division. Players can participate even if they haven't played any of the other events for this season.
Every player will get a player's pack and some funny money to spend at the event shop on discs, disc golf accessories, and more. Our goal is to continue to ensure everyone goes home with something fun from the event while also giving kids a feel for how most amateur tournaments work and letting them have more options in what they recieve. The top 40% of players in each division will get more funny money as their amateur payout. Funny money can be spent the day of.
For those who may be unfamiliar with the age divisions, players should sign up based on the age they will be on December 31st of 2023. Players can also choose to 'play up' in an older division if they'd prefer to do so.
If you need siblings carded together who are not in the same division to allow for them to share the same guardian we are happy to accommodate that.
We will have a Closest-to-Pin, long putt, and Closest-to-Tee prizes, and possibly a long drive contest if weather allows.
This is a PDGA sanctioned event and the rules for sanctioned play will be followed by we also understand that many of our players and families are new to sanctioned events and so we try to always keep the focus on educating and helping. We ask that parents who are unfamiliar with or who haven't recently read the PDGA's Youth Safety Policy do at the time of signup so we can answer any questions they may have and to ensure all our competitor families feel they can meet these requirements.
The Youth Safety Policy can be found in section 1.13 of the competition manual and at this link: https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/113
