About this tournament

BigFoot Disc Golf Shop is excited to open the 2022 Calendar Year with the Inaugural 2022 Texoma Ice Bowl Championships!

What Is an Ice Bowl Disc Golf Tournament?
An Ice Bowl® is a disc golf event, most typically held in winter, with a mission to increase local awareness of disc golf by raising funds for local and regional charities, with an emphasis on fighting food insecurity. Many Ice Bowls emphasize fun over competition, while burnishing a positive image for disc golf and disc golfers through publicizing the charitable fundraising with timely news releases. Ice Bowl began in 1987 as a single tournament in Columbia, Missouri in an effort to publicize the fledgling sport and to get more people playing. Raising funds for charity was added as a very significant component of Ice Bowl in 1996. Since then, over $5.39 million has been raised, including over $420K in 2021.

Our 2022 Partner
This year we are partnering with the Hands of Hope Food Bank of Durant, OK which is located on Main St. The mission of Hands of Hope is to help provide food to those in need. This non-profit organization has helped distribute over $2 Million dollars worth of food since 2014. Upon researching Hands of Hope further, it is great to see that only 10% of donations goes to administrative fees/salaries with 90% going directly towards the purchase of food. If you would like to research this organization further, here is their direct link https://www.handsofhope.info

Our 2022 Fundraising Goal
Our goal for 2022 is to raise $500! We are trying to do our part and play a positive roll in impacting our local Southern Oklahoma community!

Mulligans
What is a Mulligan?
A mulligan is a "re-do". Say you throw your drive in the water or out of bounds, with a mulligan, you can re-throw without a penalty. They will be very handy if you want to secure a victory for the 2022 Texoma Ice Bowl Championships!

Mulligans can be purchased for any division EXCEPT the Advanced/Pro division. All Mulligans proceeds will go directly to Hands of Hope. The breakdown cost for Mulligans are as follows:
$2 for 1 Mulligan
$5 for 3 Mulligans
$10 for 8 Mulligans
$20 for 20 Mulligans

Meaning, if someone in the Recreational Division purchases 8 Mulligans, they may use a mulligan 8 times throughout their round.

Weather/Conditions
Here are the three historical Ice Bowl® “rules” that convey Ice Bowl’s spirit:
1. Under no circumstances, may an Ice Bowl® be cancelled or postponed because of weather conditions. 2. No wimps or whiners are allowed. 3. There are no excuses for not attending. Either be there or be called out as a wimp!
