I am proud and excited to work with Fraserglen in Abbotsford to host a charity C Tier Singles Disc Golf Tournament on their fantastic course, sponsored by MVP Disc Sports!. This tournament will consist of a 20 hole layout, 1 day, 2 round event, with a shotgun start.
Archway food bank in Abbotsford has served the community since the early 1970's. They operate on 98% donated funds through the year. With inflation at the highest it's been in some time, and food costs soaring, many families will struggle during the holiday season. Our goal is to raise at least $1500 to donate to the foodbank to help with this Christmas season, and provide some meals for those facing difficult Christmases. Read more about them here - https://www.abbotsfordfoodbank.com/
As this is a Charity event, on a golf course with green fees, there will be no player packs. Fees are split $2 PDGA fee, $30 Green Fee, $30 towards player prizing and donation to Foodbank. This is a high green fee, and is unfortunately the cost of us being able to provide a course in Abbotsford. One other goal of this tournament, is to show the city the demand for a course here, what lengths we're willing to be able to have a place to play, and support our community. Once we are able to pay Fraserglen for hosting us, the remainder of cash is split between player pay-outs, and the donation to Archway foodbank.
Fraserglen with 54 Acres has provided us the opportunity to host a 2 day tournament, with a 20 hole layout! 8244ft Par 73, with Tunnels, Par 5's, risky water carries, and big angles to get around, this will be a course that has challenging holes for every skills levels, and of course those short ones you just need to get if you want to win.
Putting challenge! Want to win an MVP Black Hole Mini.... well of course you do, but how good are you at putting with a mini? No scratch that, how good are you at putting with a mini in front of an audience. During lunch ($20 burgers at the Grill bar attached to the course, no need to go anywhere) we'll have a fun challenge, with the winner taking home a Black Hole mini!
We know not everyone throws 350'ft, and sometimes CTP's seem just out of reach. Well we will have some for every skill level, but on top of that, why not have your drive be closest to the middle of the fairway? Doesn't matter if it's 200ft or 350ft, closest to the middle wins!
We have 30+ discs from MVP Disc sports to give away! As well as a few more from local shops (final count to come on those)
Of course there is an optional $3 ace pot! If an Ace is not hit during play we will have a CTP contest at the end, with payouts to the 3 closest, unless an Ace is hit during that.
Each participant will require a BCDS Competitive Membership to play.
Any division with 2 or less players will be collapsed.
As this is a sanctioned tournament, all PDGA rules must be followed.
We will follow all provincial COVID guidelines for the safety of all players on the course.
Last day for Refunds is October 27th. After that, cards will done. Please, if you don't think you can make it, request a refund before then and we can get someone off the waitlist on. (all waitlisted will be refunded on the October 27th)
