The MD Senior Olympics Commission Board voted 7/7/20 to cancel all 2020 MDSO events. The Druid Hill Open will be held, as planned, but there will be no MDSO competition or awards.
Thanks to some generous sponsors, including Eagle Mill Disc Golf ($300), there will be $400 ADDED CASH to the Pro payouts (apportioned by # of participants)! Thanks to Mr. Lotto for a generous donation that allows us to provide porta-johns for the tournament.
COVID-19 NOTICE
Registrants must confirm, at check-in, that, to the best of their knowledge, they have no symptoms that might be indicative of a coronavirus infection and that they have had no contact with a coronavirus victim within the three weeks prior to the tournament. Registrants who are not able to provide this confirmation will not be allowed to participate and will be asked to leave the disc golf area. Full refunds will be provided.
Registrants must also agree to have their temperature tested (non-contact thermometer). Registrants with forehead temperatures above 100F will not be allowed to participate and will be asked to leave the disc golf area. Full refunds will be provided.
Prudence dictates that there will NOT be an after-party. We still expect to have a permit for adult beverages, which participants may bring and consume while practicing social distancing and limiting group size.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
Check-in time starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 9:00 a.m. Tee-off time will be 10:00 a.m. for all divisions.
Tee groups are limited to 4 people, so, no caddies.
DHO registrants play two rounds in their respective pools: "Front 18" (Legacy front 9 holes, Forest Drive front 9 holes) and "Back 18" (Legacy back 9 holes, Forest Drive back 9 holes).
The pool divisions have been changed to accommodate the unexpectedly-large registration of MA2 and MA3 players.
All Pool A divisions will play the first round on the Back 18 and the second round on the Front 18. All Pool B divisions will play the first round on the Front 18 and the second round on the Back 18.
The layouts for each division have been adjusted with speed of play in mind. The tees and baskets for each division FOR BOTH ROUNDS are as follows (may be subject to change):
Orange (long) tees to orange (long) baskets: MPO, MA1, MA40;
Purple (short) tees to orange baskets: FPO, FA1, MA2, FA2;
Purple tees to purple baskets: MP60, MA50, MA60, MA3, FA3.
NOTE: Lunch is NOT included. Please bring your own food AND WATER. Some food may be available for purchase. Water will be available at Tournament Central on request (to avoid players' digging in a cooler).
