About this tournament

Disc flight numbers: 4 4 -2 1 (or Discraft flight number -0.5)

One of the most anticipated events of the year makes its return to North Jasper on August 19th as Grip-n-Rip hosts the 2018 Discraft Ace Race! Come join this fun event where everyone has a shot at walking away the winner!

An Ace Race consists of two rounds of 18 holes like any other tournament, but the exception is that it's all about the aces. You will get one shot from the tee line (all holes will be shortened to about 150-220 feet) at each hole to make an ace. Winner of the event is the person who makes the most aces and gets a cool prize pack from Discraft! In case of a tie, the person who registers the most "metals" (hits on the basket or post) wins.

You will receive two prototype discs as part of your player pack that you will use for your throws. In addition, the player pack will include a hat, lanyard, towel, mini disc, and more!

Entry fee is $30, but you get at least twice the value in the player pack, so everyone wins!

We will also sell mulligans so you can get a second chance on the holes of your choice!

Since we must order the player packs at least two weeks in advance to ensure they arrive on time, REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON AUGUST 4. We may order a few extra, but if we do, they will be strictly first come, first served.

Rules of play:
Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.

After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.

The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.
