About this tournament
1 round of play
To note: this is an XC-Tier (Charity Endowment) PDGA event so you don't need to be a member and no extra fees will be charged to any player. It is, however, going to be a lot of fun!
Come and join us for the 12th Anchorage Ice Bowl on Saturday, March 21st at Westchester Lagoon. Check in begins at 9:45am and the Player’s Meeting will be at 10:30am sharp. Tee off at 11am sharp.
Time for some early season disc golf and raising money for Bean’s Café and the essential services they provide to some of our neighbors in need. Last year we raised $1,137 for Bean's - let's beat that this year!
To clarify from the get-go, this is a shameless fundraising event. Accordingly, we will be playing with mulligans available for purchase, a dollar a piece, all of that extra money going to Bean’s. Throw a crappy drive? Geek a putt from 10 feet? Worry ye not – throw a mulligan. And feel good about yourself when you do so – all proceeds go to Bean’s: “It’s for the children!”
That means that you can possibly buy a win, tossing almost endlessly at hole 6 or 7 in pursuit of that elusive early season ace or just playing out the thought experiment, “Could I run a perfect round at the Goon if I had do-overs?” Your call, and your generosity will be appreciated.
The entry fee is $35 which gets you:
• A nice, brisk walk in a lovely park.
• 18 holes of play: two loops of 9 holes at the Goon.
• A fine Innova GStar Mako3 mid -range with the Golden Sombrero 2026 Winter Series stamp (in gold of course).
• A chance to get together with disc golf friends for some early season golf and trash talking.
• A chance at the coveted Anchorage Ice Bowl trophy, or (for the lesser mortals among us) a chance for some other sweet prizes in the raffle (mulligans double as raffle tickets). The TD still has too much plastic so the raffle will be good. Mulligan usage/raffle bagging is encouraged.
Don't worry about what "division" you are in for this event; that's an administrative function for registration purposes. We're one big happy cluster for the play itself!
Wear a Hawaiian shirt and get an extra mulligan/raffle ticket. The irony photographs well for those who live Outside.
You pick your card! Let me know who you want to play with and I will try to accomodate. Or take the free spin and play with somebody new.
Additionally, Innova hooked us up with some sweet CFR discs as they always do: Color Glow Halo Champion Gorgons, Color Glow Halo Champion Wraiths and new Proto Glow Champion Foxes (these glow like crazy - see the picture). Get yourself one (or two or three) and further bump up our contributions to Bean’s.
Many thanks to the Anchorage Disc Golf Association, the Anchorage Parks & Recreation folks, Innova Champion Disc Golf, Disc Golf Values, DRYVE Disc Golf and all who have supported an Anchorage Ice Bowl.

Hope to see you there,
