A NOTE ON DIVISIONS:
After carefully examining the depth of competition at different tiers here in NJ/NY I feel that these four divisions - paired with the rating guidelines I have offered - offer the best combination of inclusivity and competition possible. I understand that it can feel strange to see MPO players in an "Amateur" event, or to leave out MA2 entirely, but the nomenclature for these divisions are extremely semantical and their guidelines don't effectively apply to the goals of this event format. I would have used the color divisions, but I felt that the rating cutoffs they used did not effectively create the best level of inclusivity and competition possible.
If you have any questions or well-thought critiques about the division guidelines made for this event please feel free to drop a comment below or reach out to me directly!
