The $2 So Cal Series fee is collected per player and 100% of the fees are paid back out to So Cal members at the end of the year. Payout occurs at the year-end banquet. Fees collected from Pro divisions are paid back in cash to the top points-earners in the Pro divisions from where the fees were collected. Fees collected from Am divisions are paid back in merchandise to the top points-earners in the Am divisions from where the fees were collected.

The $5 So Cal non-member fee is collected by the TD AND STAYSWITH THE TOURNAMENT. TDs can use the collected $5 non-member fees for whatever they want: increase pro payout, pay for supplies like OB line paint or string, buy meals for volunteers. Whatever the TD decides is the best way to spend that money.

And yes, Frank, you might be missing something here. So Cal helps promote So Cal Series events by sending emails to members announcing the events. Don't you receive the emails Mike Byrne sends out? So Cal members also help out as volunteers at many events, provide technical assistance and advice to new TDs, develop new courses, and run the year-long points series.
