Yet Another Tumbler Update

For those who are not already familiar, we thought we received all our tumblers yesterday, but we only received HALF of them. The remaining ones should show up on July 12 according to my tracking info.

1) If you are willing and able to help us out, there are one of two things you can do:
(Only If you are a local) You could give back your tumbler for the time being, and once the new orders arrive you can receive your tumbler later in the week.
2) (Local or out of towner) You could return your tumbler in return for another player's pack item. This would be your choice of another bag of coffee, another flight towel, or a misprint PEACE SURPLUS Tree bash tournament towel (while supplies last)

Doing either of these things will help our out of towners return home happier and prevent us from having to ship mass amounts of tumblers to them. If you are able to assist we would greatly appreciate it!

2) Our tumblers finally arrived! Please come by tournament central tomorrow to pick up the final item of your player's pack. Thank you for your patience with this.
3) Due to complaints from the local ice rink about people warming up/throwing in the ice rink parking lot and near the ice rink, the city has asked us to refrain from using this area to throw discs. You can still use the forest on the other side of the Arizona Trail to warm up. Also, if you're looking for a nice open field to warm up in, I would recommend one of the soccer fields by Thorpe Park. It's only a 5 minute drive from the tournament! Thank you for your assistance in working with our City, who has allowed us to host this awesome event.

Also I want to give an update on players packs. For anybody who checked in early, you might have noticed that part of our player pack (coffee tumblers and a $5 Infinite Discs gift card) was missing. The tumblers we ordered have been delayed in shipping, but our tracking info tells us that they should arrive either Friday or Saturday. We will give more info on the tumblers once we receive the order. We apologize for all inconvenience that this has caused. We will have the $5 infinite discs gift cards, so please stop by to get yours as well.

Treebash Update:

Due to the extremely dry conditions and concerns brought about by the Rafael Fire, the Fort Tuthill Disc Golf Course has closed. However, the McPherson course will remain open and is graciously able to accommodate us in reserving the course for all 3 days. All this is pending further fire development and as long as no evacuations are issued.

As a reminder, there IS NO SMOKING ALLOWED ON OR NEAR THE COURSE! If you need to smoke, please do so inside of your vehicle. If we see anybody smoking on the course, you will be DISQUALIFIED IMMEDIATELY. In addition to abiding by fire safety guidelines, it is imperative that we honor the city's wishes so that we can continue using their amazing courses for events. We hope that you understand.

Treebash update

Our tournament staff is working closing with Coconino county, City of Flagstaff, and the National Forest Service to keep a close watch on the Rafael fire and how it may effect this years Treebash Open. The reality of the matter is that droughts in our town are nothing to take lightly and unfortunately our sport and event is at the whim of precipitation levels and safety of our forests. On June 23rd it is expected the Forest service will be close all of their land, restricting use whether publicly or reserved. We will be keeping in close contact to see if the City and County follow suit.

As it stands our options will likely be as follows:

1. If the city and county allow our event dates to continue we will play Tuthill and McPherson with the exclusion of the 5 extra holes on Forest service land at Tuthill.

2. If the county land (Tuthill) closes and the city land (McPherson) remains open then the entirety of three rounds will move to McPherson only. The dates remain the same.

3. If the county and city decide to close their land then we will explore other dates under supervision of the PDGA and local officials. Likely happening around August and beyond once the monsoons (hopefully) give us some much needed rain. All refunds will be honored.

We thank you for your patience and will keep everyone updated on the status of the tournaments to come.
