This email is your official players meeting so please take a minute to read as there may actually be some useful information here.

Ok, now for some housekeeping. As you know this is a tee times event and tentative day one tee times have been posted. You can find them here, https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/69265 I only say tentative because there is a slight chance that your tee time could move up/down a spot if we have some last minute cancellations. This is why we ask that you check in at least 30 mins before your scheduled tee time.

For this event we will be using PDGA live scoring. This is accessed by going to pdga.com/score and entering code PMO1.

What you need to know about the courses.
Both courses are loaded with par 4s and even a few par 5s. For pace of play, you do not need to wait for the card ahead of you to finish these holes before you drive. Use your discretion and start the hole when the card is far enough ahead.

Day 1. Spoonwood Ridge at NEDGC. 51 John Mason Rd, Southwick, MA 01077
Spoonwood is a daunting par 72, classic New England, wooded course with technical fairways and wonderful elevation changes. Like all wooded courses there is a chance you may find a little poison ivy or perhaps even some bees if you stray too far from the fairways. The folks at NEDGC do a remarkable job maintaining some of the finest disc golf in the state, but sometimes nature likes to fight back a little. The good thing is there is only one hole with any OB and that is hole 17. This is an island hole. If your drive lands outside of the clearly marked “island”, you will be throwing 3 from the drop zone. However if for some reason your throw from the DZ, or any other throw from on the island, goes OB you will take the stroke and play from where you went OB, taking your meter of course.

Day 2. Tower Ridge Disc Golf Course. 140 Nod Rd, Simsbury, CT 06089
Tower Ridge is a bomber course spanning a retired ball golf course on the side of what feels like nothing shy of a mountain. Like most ball golf conversions, any bunkers are hazards and are clearly marked. If you land in a hazard, you play from where your disc landed with a 1 stroke penalty. Unlike Spoonwood there is actually quite a bit of OB on Tower Ridge. I am pleased to say that the guys at Tower Ridge have been working feverishly to ensure everything is tight and right. Not only is all of the OB clearly marked on the ground as well as the tee signs, but we will also have some folks out on the course to help spot where you may have crossed that line. The volunteers on the course are just that, volunteers. They are not rules officials and any decisions about a disc on or close to the line will be made by the card.

I hope this question makes sense, but when I first heard about the tournament, it appeared certain divisions were teeing off Sat AM and Sunday PM. For my own scheduling purposes, I was trying to sort out which division to sign up for depending on the times. Saturday AM and Sunday PM work better for me and I was curious if the division makes any difference in how that works.
