NADGT Exclusive @ Holloway Tournament Player Meeting Comment (copied from email)
Participants and Those Still On The Waitlist,
Thank you for signing up to participate in the first-ever NADGT event at the Holloway Disc Golf Course. This tournament is a 2-day event starting Saturday, August 7th and ending Sunday, August 8th. Holloway Disc Golf Course is located on beautiful property in Holloway Park in Lakeland, FL. It is home to cross-country race events from around the central Florida area as well as starting to become a staple tournament hub for disc golf. I am happy to be able to host this event for you all and I will work to make you all proud. This will likely be my last tournament that I am hosting in Florida as I have moved to Georgia about 2 months ago. This leaves a hole for tournament director that many of you are capable of filling!
Tournament Format
This tournament is a B-Tier sanctioned PDGA tournament as well as a NADGT Exclusive event. This means that PDGA rules will apply, including the use of minis (where applicable) and the use of alcohol during tournament play is forbidden. Please also make sure you are using the time limits for lost discs. There will be many people trying to cycle through the course throughout the day, and I would prefer our backups not be because someone lost their disc for 10 minutes a hole. The card is responsible for making decisions during gameplay, and if questions arise, then you may contact me and I can give guidance but the ultimate decision comes down to your card mates. If there are any questions and you are not able to get ahold of me, please make use of the ability to throw a provisional shot.
There are 144 players participating in this event from MA1 down to MJ18. There will be a lot of coordinating that I will be doing, so I will ask you for your patience each day. There will be 36 cards of 4 players each, and I am going to try my absolute best to put players in similar divisions together, and if not possible then put at least people throwing from the same tee pads together. If for some reason this is not possible for whatever reason, I will inform your card of that situation before you set out and you will be expected to play long pads first and short pads second, regardless of the previous hole's scores. The tee times for players will be posted on Friday due to the number of last-minute changes to registration. Currently, my anticipation is to start cards at 7:00 AM and send a new card off every 10 minutes with a few breaks in the day and sending out the last card at 1:00 PM.
Divisional Layouts
MA1/MA40 - Longs/Longs
MA2/MA50/FA1 - Longs/Shorts (This is subject to swap but as I see it right now, I don't believe it will need to)
MA3/FA2/FA3/FA40/MJ18/FJ18 - Shorts/Shorts
The only hole that all divisions will be playing the same tee pad will be hole 16. Everyone will be throwing from the top of the hill.
Players Packs
I received the boxes of player pack items today in the mail. I will have them on site when I arrive in Florida later in the week. Please be patient during registration as I will be figuring out who gets what for each person throughout the day. I will also let you know that because I have received all the player pack items today, there may be some items that you ordered that I may not have in my possession at the time. I will work with you and the NADGT staff to make sure you get what you ordered.

Card Scoring
We will be utilizing the PDGA Digital Scoring for this event. Please find a player (or caddy) that is willing to perform the scoring on the website. I recommend you also keep a paper copy of the scores so that you can cross-check in case something gets messed up. Before you leave for the day, also ensure that you finalize your score on the digital scorecard as that will be the system of record for the tournament.

Weather
As of writing this email, there is a chance both Saturday and Sunday for rain. If lightning starts to strike in the area, alerts will be sent out to the digital scorecards and you need to stop playing immediately and find cover. Play will resume with a message on your digital scorecards.
COVID
I know that none of you wants to hear it but there is supposedly a new variant of COVID going around and I know that Florida is having issues with it. I am NOT requiring masks to be worn on the property or during gameplay, but I would advise that you take general precautions. Do not grab someone else's disc or equipment unless you have explicit permission. Please maintain a reasonable distance from each other, and if someone on your card doesn't feel comfortable being near you, please respect their desire.
Warm-up Area
At tournaments in the past at Holloway, there has been the ability to warm up in the parking lot. I will not be bringing any practice baskets to the tournament because I do not want to haul the baskets back and forth from Georgia. However, if there is anyone that would like to loan their practice basket to allow people to warm up putting, I am more than willing to allow that to happen and would encourage it.
Drinks
I will have bottled water for sale at tournament central on both days ($1 a bottle). Please make sure you bring adequate amounts of water for your round as the course is long and a bit gruelling and as you are all aware, Florida weather is not the coolest in early August.
Awards
The only award that I have is a 1st place pin for each participating division. If there is a tie for first place, there will be a throw-off to determine who wins that division. These are important because with this being a NADGT event, you will get points and invitations awarded to you based on your placement in the tournament.
If there is anything that I may be missing, please feel free to email me or ask me when you see me at tournament central. I am also still trying to figure out spotters and helpers for each of the days. If you know anyone who would be willing to be a spotter or helper, I will be providing free pizza for lunch as well as drinks. Thank you for allowing me to direct this tournament for you and I hope you all play to the best of your abilities!
