LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
It is too late to withdraw for this event. However, if you notify me via at 785-764-2229 at least one hour prior to tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Am. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.
TOURNAMENT CENTRAL / PARKING -
If the Optimist Shelter has not been reserved we will be using it for Tournament Central. If it is occupied, we will have an alternate Tournament Central just south of it next to Hole 10 and it’s practice basket. It is best to park in the lots next to the tennis courts and soccer fields if Tournament Central is at the Optimist Shelter or the south lot if Tournament Central is by Hole 10’s practice basket.
RESTROOMS
The restrooms at the Optimist Shelter (in the middle) should be open along with a couple portable restrooms and the REC center near hole 4.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 8:00 am - 8:35 am at the Tournament Central. All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 8:45 AM.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. Paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.
Password: (see email or ask at the event)
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. You can also go to this link to find each course set up here:

A note about the setup (if you are concerned about it, if not, skip this paragraph) - I have now run over 80 tournaments. In my experience, the best way to get more accurate round ratings is to have a larger pool with more propagators. When different layouts are used, there needs to be a significant difference (more than 4 holes are noticeably different) between the two layouts in order to have accurate ratings. Within each layout, the more propagators, the more accurate that ratings will be. In order to have the most accurate ratings, everyone is playing the same layout. This means some holes we are playing a longer or harder tee (Hole 2 & 10), some holes we are playing an easier tee (Hole 3 & 16). I did this on purpose to average the difficulty so that all divisions will play the same layout in order to produce the best most accurate ratings available to the field as a whole.
COURSE CONDITIONS
There are no adverse course conditions that I am aware of at this time.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
All Amateurs will receive a Discmania tournament stamped disc along with a Maerick DG hat. Additionally, Recreational Players will also receive receive a Mini Marker.
The Discmania molds will be:
Hard Exo Method - overstable midrange
Active Premium Astronaut - very understable distance
Active Premium Majesty - neutral to understable distance
Active Premium Glow Shogun - stable putter
Neo Splice - very overstable fairway
Neo Mutant - extreme overstable midrange
To review the various molds, look under the DISCS section here:

WATER
While there will be at least one to two water coolers at TD Central or the course, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up.
ROUND PRIZES
FIRST ROUND:
First Round will have Hot Round minis to the lowest score for the whole division (not your card, but the whole division you are playing in).
SECOND ROUND:
Second Round will have ‘Win Your Card, Win a Prize’ which will be a larg catch / beech / ultimate frisbee.
IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW
If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Matthew Schulz (TD on location) or Rob via text at 785-764-2229. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. Your second round card mates and starting holes will be different. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/60331
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. It costs $5. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is at least 140% higher than what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
PRIZES:
The prizes for the ace pool will be two Discmania Lite baskets and one Fanatic 2 Backpack.
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. I realize that this policy has changed in the past and I’m trying to be consistent with it. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?

AWARDS / PAYOUTS
To decrease the amount of congregation we will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round at the course you finish. There are First Place trophies for ALL divisions, Recreational Division has trophies for First, Second and Third.
PRO PAYOUTS will either be a check mailed to you (i.e. no fees) or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees), or a Merchandise Voucher based on what you chose during registration.
AM PAYOUTS will be available starting on Sunday the day after the event at either the Olathe store or online. The credit is good until the end of the calendar year. If you want an online code, please email Rob at [email redacted].
As a reminder, All Recreational Divisions and all Junior Divisions are player pack and trophy only with no additional payout.
PDGA POSTING
My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Sunday afternoon.
