Welcome to the 2026 Kanza Krush presented by Latitude 64!
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE EMAIL. IT CONTAINS INFORMATION YOU NEED FOR THE TOURNAMENT.
If you are receiving this email because you used your email when signing up another player for the event, please forward this info to that player.
THANKS!:
Thank you to Latitude 64 for their sponsorship of this event. This is the first Maverick tournament L64 has sponsored. They gave us a great deal on shirts that I was able to add to the amateur player pack as a bonus item.
DIVISIONS / DATES:
Everyone is playing two rounds on Saturday, August 1at on a shotgun start. Round one hole assignments will be posted this afternoon at link below.
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/98379
Both pools will start at Kanza Park in the morning with the second round at Forest Park in the afternoon.
LATE WITHDRAWAL / NO-SHOW
At this point, it is too late to receive a refund. However, if you notify me at 785-764-2229 prior to tee time, you will still receive your player pack for an Amatuer. No call, no show forfeits your player pack and entry fee.
To cancel, text or call your name and division, with a comment you are canceling to 785-764-2229.
PARKING -
Kanza Park - while I did not get express permission this year, in the past it has never been a problem to park in the business lots near Hole 18 or the parking lot to the south of the road right before pulling into the park.
Forest Park - there are various spots to park throughout the course. I would recommend parking near the baseball diamonds. Please do not park along any of the fairways as sometimes players like to throw over the out-of-bounds lines.
RESTROOMS
Kanza Park has a portable restroom.
Forest Park has public restrooms that will be open.
CHECK-IN
Check-in is from 7:45 am - 8:20 am at Kanza Park’s shelter. All players, Pro and Am, need to check in. If you don’t check in, I will presume you are a No Call, No Show and you may be scratched from the event. Tee time for round one will be 8:30 AM.
SCORING
We will be using the PDGA digital scoring system. (This is not Udisc). To access it, go to pdga.com/score. Enter in the password, then your last name or PDGA number, and the card will pull up. You will need to check in in order to get the password. I will have paper scorecards as a backup. You can also use udisc as a backup. However, to submit the scores, it needs to be done through the PDGA scoring system.
Again - You will need to check in in order to get the password.
CADDY BOOK
Hole lengths, pars, and OB rules are listed in the PDGA app while you are keeping score. They can be found under the Documents on the dgscene event page.
COURSE CONDITIONS
Ottawa received ¾” of rain last night. It may be wet in some areas so plan accordingly.
AMATEUR PLAYER PACKS
Amateurs: All am's will receive:
You choice of 1 disc:
Opto-Ice Havoc
Opto Musket
Opto Pure
Opto Saint
Gold-Ice Burst Claymore
Grand Grace
A dri-fit shirt - this is a bonus item so sizes are first come, first serve.
The series mini record coaster / mini marker.
Pros: If you would like a mini record coaster you can have one if requested.
WATER
While there will be at least one water cooler at the course near tournament central, I fully expect they will go dry at some point. They will be refilled as soon as possible, but you need to be prepared to bring enough water for yourself. The water on the course is a back-up. Forest Park also has water spigots throughout the course.
IF YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW
If you decide for any reason that you don’t or can’t play the second round, please tell Rob, the Tournament Director. This is crucial as it will affect others on how the second round is organized.
LUNCH BREAK / ROUND 2
We will have an approximately 1 hour lunch break after the last card is completed before starting round 2. You will be moving to the other course for the second round. You can find your hole assignment and tee time for the second round at the pdga event page:
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/98379
ACE / CTP FUND
If you paid into the ace fund during registration you are included in this. If you didn’t, you can sign up when you check in if you want to. If neither applies, skip to next section.
Thank you for participating into the Ace Fund. With all Maverick DG events, the Ace fund is paid out as large ticket items and not as cash. This is one of the ways MavDG is ‘maverick’ and it helps to pay for tournament expenses. I determine the payout items so that what is given out is approximately 150% in value to what was paid in so both the winner and the tournament benefits.
Each pool will have their own Ace Funds since they are playing different layouts.
PRIZES:
POOL A: GRIPeq CS2 with Handeye Towel ($174 retail)
POOL B:
Westside Discs Noble bag ($199 retail)
GRIPeq Disc Golf Duffel ($99 retail)
Please note: If there is a tie for first place in your division, we may start the CTP game before your playoff is done. If you super duper rather play the CTP game than for the First Place Trophy, you can always forfeit the playoff. I would ask you though - why are you playing in a tournament if not to win the prize of First Place?
AWARDS / PAYOUTS
We will not have a formal awards ceremony. The awards will be given to the winner after the second round as soon as that division is finished. All divisions with more than 1 player will have a trophy. MA3 will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies.
PRO PAYOUTS can be either a check picked up the same day, a check mailed to you, or PayPal Goods and Services (winner pays fees).
AM PAYOUTS have the choice of the following:
Redeemed at the Olathe store before the end of the year
Online code to be used at my webstore maverickdiscgolf.com. If you choose the webstore, it will charge you shipping and sales tax on what is beyond the payout code.
As a reminder, All Recreational Divisions and all Junior Divisions are player pack and trophy only with no additional payout.
PDGA POSTING
My goal is to have the 'official' results posted to the PDGA by Sunday evening.
THANK YOU
I want to sincerely thank you for choosing to play in Maverick Disc Golf events, and particularly the Kanza Krush. If you are a first timer, I hope you enjoy it!
