Welcome to the 2020 Fall Machete Invitational at Tally Hills. We've been holding these tournaments since 2003. I'd like to start by thanking all the volunteers who have worked on the course over the years. And thanks to my wife Linda for patiently putting up with us. And thanks be to God for creating a beautiful place for us to play. We are playing 2 rounds of 11 holes each. The 12th hole is where your card players spots near the pond for the players behind you. You don't take a score for this 12th hole. Orange 3 and Pink 9 are these ghost holes which are after you play to the berm basket.
COURSES:
Each course is color coded. Orange in the morning and Pink in the afternoon. Each tee pad has colored flags with the hole #, distance, par and basket name. From each basket, follow the flag color to the next tee pad.
OB / Mandos:
My neighbor's fence, the running creek in the woods, the barbed wire fence and the pond water are OB. The DZ for the pond is in front of the pond for both holes that cross the water. If you hit the berm on your drive and then go into the pond, you throw from the berm. On Orange 2, If you throw 2 discs into the water then you advance to the next drop zone at the entrance to the berm. If you hit the house, that's a 2 stroke penalty and you then throw from the concrete near the garage. On Orange 1 if you go into the pond you throw from where you entered the water. The par 5 has a mando to the left of the big tree.
HANGING BASKET:
Is high for both rounds.
ISLAND:
You have to land on the island on your first throw for Pink 6 and your second throw for Orange 11. If you don't make the island then throw from where you land and take a penalty stroke. One penalty stroke maximum.
CTP's :
There are 8 CTP's, 4 on each course, One for everyone(Purple) Orange 8 and Pink 6, Advanced (Gold, Blue) O9 an P11, Intermediate (Red, White) O7 and P3, and Rec(Green) O12 and P12. I placed the CTP flag half way down each fairway.
CARDS:
Each player gets their own score card to be used in both rounds. Round 1 players can build their own cards by placing your card on your desired starting hole. After Round 1, put you card in the box. Round 2 the cards will be ordered by division and score.
ACE POT, CTP value:
$2 Beverage sales will add to the value of each. There is a cooler under the big tree and one near the far left basket.
CONGESTION:
Please be patient as there are some holes that are fairly close to each other. Players on Orange 2 may walk near the Pond basket as players are approaching the basket from Orange 1 so don't throw your third shots on Orange 1 until Orange 2 clears the basket. The large field north of the house has multiple holes going up and down the field.
POND SPOTTING:
When it's your turn to spot the next players near the pond, please have someone down the hill to look for discs that go past the basket. Please have 2 players on both sides of the basket on the berm. There is an extension pole to get discs out of the water. There are flags for you to mark the discs. Then you can go on to the next hole. Please be careful as we did see snakes near the water.
